About Me
About me:
* I am short and curvy, with blue eyes and long brown hair. * I have my nose pierced with a so-tiny-it’s-almost-invisible gold stud that was handmade for me on a Greek island. * Desolate, stormy beaches make me happy. * I used to make money teaching Middle Eastern dance, but these days I just belly dance for fun. * My mother calls me for advice on travel, gardening, quilting, and party planning. * If you’re lucky, you might catch me singing old Celtic ballads at an open stage or jam session here in Edmonton. * I can cook everything from roast beef with Yorkshire pudding to Pad Thai, apple pie to tiramisu. * I love to travel, especially to Europe and places with thick fog. * Really old keys, dappled-grey Percherons and lingering kisses send shivers down my spine. * I throw axes for fun. Must be my Viking genes... * I prefer maple walnut to chocolate, stout to merlot, and fossils to fashion. * I happily make my own bread, jam, mead, Halloween costumes, curtains, candles, bookshelves, and irrigation systems. * I am learning to Salsa dance. * I'm a farm girl at heart, and would rather live in a cabin in the woods or in a small town than in a city bigger than Halifax. * I enjoy using my physical senses - I am a very sensual/sensory person. I love things like the smell of freshly grated lemon peel, the colours of a forest, the roughness of wool and the smoothness of silk, the taste of a complex curry, the sound of the ocean...
I'm looking for a man to be my accomplice in adventure, a partner in romance and in life. This man must have a good heart, strong shoulders (literally and figuratively) and a great sense of humour because, let’s face it, life is too short to be serious ALL of the time. He doesn't have to love all the same things I do, or vice versa - I'm pretty independent and I appreciate that in others. He’s probably not the flashy Casanova type, but likely more of a hidden treasure. Other than that, it all boils down to chemistry.
What do you think? Could we be a match?
First Date
For a first meeting, a casual cup of coffee together sounds good, but something a bit more creative will peak my interest even more. Walking your dog at an off-leash park? Skating and hot chocolate? Attending a poetry reading or art gallery reception? A picnic on top of a skyscraper? Getting our faces painted at a street festival?
For a real date, a nice dinner out is always a good choice... or taking in some live music or theatre with drinks afterward, something like that. Hint: I'm an old fashioned romantic, so show me that you're a gentleman who knows how to make a woman feel special. Flowers and candlelight (those old clichés) aren't required, but they will definitely make me smile.
