I've been doing the online dating thing for a little while and had some long-term relationships but haven't met the right guy yet. I'm sure he's out there though! I am new in the area and don't have a lot of close friends yet, so having someone to hang out with and have some fun is a good start, if it goes further, all the better.

I don't have a big laundry list of requirements, and I don't play games (well, not the relationship kind of games, I actually love playing real games!) I mostly want someone I enjoy being with, that is intelligent and appreciates my sense of humor. I have my own freelance software business and love what I do, and I do find that people happy in their career tend to be more pleasant to be around. I tend to prefer men that have done at least some higher education, or are otherwise intelligent and witty as I just tend to find more in common with them (I am not someone that equates intelligence with education though.) If you consider yourself a nerd or a geek, you are probably just my type! I mostly just hope to find someone that appreciates a smart girl and doesn't just want some eye candy.

I am an active Christian (United Methodist) and would prefer someone that shares my belief in Jesus as their savior, or at least someone that is open and accepting of it. I can certainly have some pretty in-depth and challenging discussions on religion and faith if you are up to it!

I have a lot of interests, and am always adding new ones. I have been very involved in dog showing and training in the past, and have a young dog in training right now but it's not as big a part of my life as it used to be. I enjoy the outdoors when I can (not in the crazy NC heat so much though!) and enjoy photography and in the past have done that as a serious hobby and even for some side income. I do digital scrapbooking (gotta do something with all those photos!) and love the creativity it allows me in creating showcases for my work. I am very open to what a partner wants to do (within reason!) and I even understand football, LOL. Sadly, I'm a Redskins fan, so just don't give me too hard a time about how bad they are this year! While I don't have children myself and am not really looking to start a family at this point, I am open to whatever children you might bring into the mix.

Generally I just enjoy a long, casual dinner when we can talk, look into each other's eyes and just get to know one another. Once we get to know each other better, I love to treat someone to my own gourmet cooking.
