I've been doing the online dating thing for a little while and had some long-term relationships but haven't met the right guy yet. I'm sure he's out there though!

I don't have a big laundry list of requirements, and I don't play games (well, not the relationship kind of games, I actually love playing real games!) I mostly want someone I enjoy being with, that is intelligent and appreciates my sense of humor. I have my own freelance software business and love what I do, and I do find that people happy in their career tend to be more pleasant to be around. I do tend to prefer men that have done at least some higher education, or are otherwise intelligent and witty as I just tend to find more in common with them. If you consider yourself a nerd or a geek, you are probably just my type! I mostly just hope to find someone that appreciates a smart girl and doesn't just want some eye candy.

I consider myself a Christian and try to lead a good, moral life and help others less fortunate than myself, but I don't really attend a church regularly or find that necessary for my own spiritual health. But I'm open to attending with someone special and am likewise accepting of whatever spiritual beliefs (or lack thereof) someone else has. I believe it's how we live that is most important rather than just what we believe. Likewise, while I don't have children myself and am not really looking to start a family at this point, I am open to whatever children you might bring into the mix.

I have a lot of interests, and am always adding new ones. I have been very involved in dog showing and training in the past, and have a young dog in training right now and an older dog that is retired and that I do nursing home/hospice visits with. I enjoy going hiking or swimming, as the weather allows and am very into photography and have been doing a correspondence course to improve my skills in that area, and am a member of the local camera club as well. I do digital scrapbooking (gotta do something with all those photos!) and love the creativity it allows me in creating showcases for my work. I also play poker online for fun and have gotten pretty good at it, but am not much of a gambler in general so haven't taken that into the real world. I am very open to what a partner wants to do (within reason!) and I even understand football, LOL. Sadly I'm a 'Skins fan (well, they got further than I expected!) but hey, there's always next year (or the next year, or the next year...) I've done so many things in the past as well. Although I work in computer programming now, my B.S. is in Biology, and in the past I have attended vet school, taught high school, worked as a lab tech, worked for the government and even worked at a race track for a couple summers! I don't think you'll ever find me boring or uninteresting, but I enjoy my quiet time as well and an evening in front of the TV with a friend can be heaven as well.

Generally I just enjoy a long, casual dinner when we can talk, look into each other's eyes and just get to know one another. Once we get to know each other better, I love to treat someone to my own gourmet cooking.
