John Scott Lewinski writes screenplays, books, interactive games, sketch comedy & magazine articles out of Los Angeles, CA. He appeared as a featured screenwriter at the Cinestory Script Session Awards with his script, Slabtown. His feature script, Darwin's Game, won entry into the Telluride Independent Film Festival. Forced Perspective won the 2001 Award from the Wisconsin State Film Commission for “Best Screenplay Set in the State.”

As a journalist, he travels the country, writing for more than 30 national magazines, including Popular Science, Wired Magazine, AARP Magazine, Reader's Digest, Maxim, Geek Monthly, ABC News Online, Writer's Digest, Glenn Beck’s “Fusion” Magazine, Backstage West, Mental Floss & Amazing Stories. Putting his sketch comedy experience to work, Lewinski writes & directs short comedy films, including Idle Football: A History.

On the stage, Lewinski wrote & directed sketch comedy productions for the Sacred Fools Theater, Serial Killers, Acme Comedy Theater in Los Angeles & the 24-hour theatre event, Day Players. He wrote, directed & edited the award-winning short audio play, Emergence.

Lewinski also produced & edited teaser promos as part of a successful viral video campaign for the sci-fi/horror series, Alive.

He holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Screenwriting from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles & a B.A. in Journalism from Marquette University. He completed his study of English Literature at Exeter College, University of Oxford, UK.

I always believe it's best to DO something on a first date. Maybe hike or paint or go to a museum. I've played catch on a first date. It's better to get to know someone while doing something. But, I guess getting coffee or lunch is doing something, too -- so I stay open to anything. One thing I know -- I love movies, but they're a lousy first date. "Hi, I'm John. Let's go sit in the dark and ignore each other for two hours..."
