Thanks for taking the time to get to know me.

I have been on this site for awhile now, and while I am still certain of what I hope to ultimately find in a relationship, I have learned that when I attempt to express it here in words, it sometimes comes across to men as a sort of “checklist,” which then seems to paint me as somewhat “picky” and inflexible in my search for that someone special. That really couldn’t be further from the truth.

In reality, I am a very accepting person, open to each person’s differences and uniqueness. I absolutely do look for—and focus upon—the positives, and I rarely have trouble finding at least a few good qualities in every man. Sure, we all have ideas of what type of person we’d like to connect with, but those are truly only ideals...preferences—not requirements.

So, I am revamping my profile in hopes of having it accurately reflect who I really am and what’s most important to me at this point and time in my life. I am not looking for the elusive “perfect man,” as I truly don’t think he exists...just as I truly don’t think the “perfect woman” exists. I do, however, know that there’s someone out there for me, and we’re both just waiting to find each other. And I know that when I find him, he will have flaws just as we all do.

I’d rather be on this site with no expectations other than to meet someone new, get to know him, and have a good time in the process. I will say that I am ultimately hoping to meet a man who would be interested in a long-term, monogamous relationship, but I don’t want to think too much about what the future holds. There’s something to be said for living “in the present”...and I think I’m ready to take on that mindset.

Having said all that, I think I’ll share with you just the very basics about me and what I’m about...

I have been divorced since October 2001. I was married only once, for 10+ years. I have a nearly 23-year old son, who was married in May 2007. As his mother, I couldn’t be more proud of him. No grandchildren yet, and I think that’s still 2-3 years out.

I live in the South Hill area of Puyallup and own the home in which I live. I work in downtown Tacoma, and have been with my company now for nearly 11 years. I love where I work and what I do.

I have pretty strong and steadfast core values that won’t be easily compromised. I can easily and effectively express myself and am honest to my core (pretty much the proverbial "open book," so to speak). I can discuss anything and everything with you, and I hope to find someone just as expressive in that sense. I strongly believe in open communication at all times and truly feel that communication, honesty and a solid base of friendship can evolve into a successfully strong and amazing relationship. When in a relationship I am a true "romantic," and enjoy keeping things fresh and exciting.

Lastly, I'd like to stress that while I consider myself a mature woman, I am very lighthearted (usually happy, love to laugh!) and am young-at-heart. I would describe myself as a pretty modern (looking and thinking) woman, and I definitely hope to meet a man who is similar...who is “current” (in his appearance, in his thinking) and not stuck in some past decade. It’s important to me that a man can have/be “fun” with me.

So...let’s meet for a hot/cold beverage...see if we can have some fun.

I think a good "first meeting" scenario would be at a fairly quiet location, casual, where we can enjoy a hot or cold beverage while getting to know each other. Go into the meeting with absolutely no expectations other than to meet and have a good time. If something subsequently develops, that would be great. But, if nothing further develops, we've at least gotten the opportunity to meet someone new and have a good time.
