Writing in here is of no value at all,
No one will read it - hidden from all;
Why am I hiding or rather from whom,
For I can still see the shadow of doom.
I cannot hide for I know my own soul,
Loving my friends has taken its toll;
I live in a world of giving that haunts,
All my emotions are handled with daunts.
I know in my heart that my life must go on,
To end it would mean just a cross on some lawn;
So...tomorrow I'll wake and still feel the hurt,
Hoping beyond hope that my body turns to dirt.
My heart is not mine - no longer to give,
Riddled with holes and looks like a sieve;
Cut up and sliced and sideways at times,
making some sense using only these rhymes.
Maybe some day the truth will prevail,
And all of my rants will be no avail;
And the world will see that I don't want its pity,
For I am in love with the heart of Newcity.
