Don't know if I like being a 'fish', but willing to give this a try. I have eclectic tastes and consider myself to be a decent human being, and 'normal' - whatever that means. Looking for a calm, smart, quiet woman, preferably who has kids that are university age, or older.

I believe that we see things not as they are, but as we are. And what I am is a reasonably balanced, considerate, and dependable man. I'm very bright with a slightly sardonic but harmless sense of humour. I've worked for the same Corporation for over twenty years (Yikes!) so I'm a Steady-Eddie - but I have my moments (I take 'volunteer holidays' and I've canoe-tripped through Temagami to build outhouses,for example).

I also do extensive volunteering in the Social Services which takes up more of my life than the 'real job', and is the next step along the path....

I am much more than I can say in a few short words...as are we all.

The person I'm interested in meeting is first and foremost smart, combined with a generous sense of humour . Also non-judgmental, open-minded, secure in their selves and flexible in opinions. I prefer argument rather than quarrel, and I like my Relationship Drama to be of the song and dance kind where everyone is smiling over the closing credits. I also like women who don't worry about their makeup. I know I don't worry about mine....

I don't smoke or drink and I don't watch sports - otherwise I'm open to pretty much anything. I care about the environment and society, and how we fit into them, and I'm hoping you do, too.

About this "Few Extra Pounds" thing: I lift weights three or four times a week, TRY to do at least an hour of some activity (bike, walk, swim, aerobics, martial arts - whatever 'moves' me) every day and believe that the best health plan one can have is daily exercise. I try to eat a whole food, plant-based diet, but I'm not a fanatic. I have no health issues except for the fact that I'm in my fifties and I'm not perfect. I guess all I'm saying is that while I'm not super-active, I'm not a lump, either, and taking care of myself physically and mentally is important to me.

Now, if they would just stop making cheesecake....('')

Like many, I prefer to make the surroundings simple so we can get to know one another. I like to talk, and I'm even better at listening. It can be anything from having a coffee to a stroll on the beach to a restaurant meal (or all three!) but it's got to be fairly quiet so I can hear what you have to say....
