Do you want children?

About Me
When people see how much I enjoy being with kids, they assume that I have children of my own. When they ask me how many I have, I tell them that I have 35 of them. You can imagine the shock on their faces! Then I let them off the hook and explain that I'm not a real parent. I only play one at work. Even though I don't have children of my own, I really adore them. I've taken this passion of mine and turned it into a rewarding career. I couldn't think of anything more fulfilling than to have the opportunity to connect with kids on a daily basis.
As much as I enjoy my job and take dedication in what I do, I work to live- not the other way around. I balance my life with those things that make it worth living for in the first place, like spending quality time with close friends and family. The way I see it, you can have all the material possessions in the world, but unless you have your health and people you care about to share them with, you have nothing. Even though I've come a long way, there is still so much more I want to experience and accomplish. I feel like my life has just begun. In the end, I want to say more than just how long I've lived my life but how deep and wide I've lived it.
If you were to ask my friends, they would probably describe me as thoughtful, loyal, generous, easy to get along with, and willing to stand up for what is right. I'm a happy person by nature. I laugh a lot and get a kick out of making other people laugh. At the same time, I know when to listen when it counts.
The person I hope to meet is likewise positive, easy to get along with, laughs easily, and values people over things. She looks forward to start out as good friends, and if we're lucky, develop our friendship into something more meaningful.
If you think we have enough in common, I would love to hear from you. I would also like to invite you to read my online journal:

Update: 8/27
Today was a sad day for me. After managing an after school program for the past 6 years, I quit my job in order to complete the final phase of my teaching credential requirements. I'll be student teaching at a local elementary school for the next 4 months, after which I will receive my credential and Masters degree. Although I miss my kids already, I know that they are a resilient bunch. It was a privilege and honor to have been a small part of their lives.

To me, what makes an outing fun has more to do with who you're with than where you go.
