I prefer to live life off the beaten path whether that's at work or play. If my heart tells me to do something - that's what I'm doing next!

When I travel, I prefer the cultural experience of locals to the tourist traps. In India, I have stayed up all night drinking chai with skyclad, ash covered Sadhus as we talked about the mysteries of life that transcended language barriers.

My true passion in life is animals and if you know the meaning of my cat's names, Lilo and Grub, you're as big of geek as me!

I love music and often pretend I can dance and sing. When the mood strikes, my usually proper self becomes an Uber-Ham exploiting any stage like surface in the room. (and yes, I am usually sober at the time)

I think being authentically myself is more important than other people's judgments of me. I would rather not speak than engage in small talk but I’m a good conversationalist if the topic is meaningful.

I am Calgarian born and raised. Yes, it might weird to find a culture loving, socially very liberal vegetarian that stays here but I do love my city and prefer to stay close to my family as they are my aspiration and my rock.

I feel very lucky to have the life I do and I like to give back even through it’s hard to say whom gets more out of my time volunteering with children at Big Brothers and Sisters.

I live by the Golden Rule, yet I give without waiting to receive. I’m pragmatic but spontaneous. Nurturing but competitive. Peaceful but energetic.

I love staying up late - I almost always sleep in on weekends. I know where to find the best hole-in-the-wall ethnic cuisine and know it's worth the drive to Turner Valley for fries. I make a killer meal but find it difficult to be inspired to cook for just myself. As a general rule, I will cook for anyone anytime if someone else is cleaning up after I complete my creative culinary expression.

I have an adventurous streak that lives for the neighboring mountains and any activity involving water but I also find a quiet evening at home rejuvenating and restful especially when combined with good wine and snuggly company.

I am spiritual but non-religious. I believe we are all connected and that love really is both the answer and the question.

Learning and growth will always be fundamental to who I am. I have a weakness for sexy people that are good at teaching me something useful from tricks on a pool table to how to change my car’s thingermajigg. (that and chocolate.. purr)

Motivated by indulgent pleasure and pushing the edge of my fears to the max, I look forward to such adventures as visiting Italy to revel in their language, food and art and coming face-to-face with a great white shark while cage diving. Can I count you in?

I love funny people that can hold me spellbound with a story or make me laugh until I cry. Truth is, I’m just a nice girl (most of the time) who’s looking for some fun and companionship (not necessarily in that order).

But I will say that if you’ve got telling blue eyes, love animals, or know any sappy 80s power ballads by heart, I’m already melting. (In which case, please write to let me know why I’m spontaneously melting so I don’t get freaked out… )

The best dates are ones where one of us says "This time, this place, wear this" and then it's a huge surprise. But... kidnapping one another isn't appropriate for a first date for some reason.

For a first MEET... how about something like flying kites, petting puppies in the pet store, a game of pool or a drive by shooting? (photography contest that is... )

I'm not into the "coffee date" - that's what I do at work with clients and vendors. It feels so formal and I'd have a tough time shifting out of that energy. Trust me, you'd rather see me less business like.
