I am a mature male with a decent job and I am looking for someone to spend time with who may know the area or just loves to explore. Share dinner with me, or a movie, or a drink, or a walk in the park. Explore the beach, nature trails, events and exhibits. Use your imagination and tell me the things you would like to do. Chances are they will match mine as well.

ANY level of relationship has to start somewhere. And restating the obvious, if we never meet, or date, we'll never know if something long term can happen. I don't see the future as cast in stone and I am open for whatever happens. If the spark is there we can nurture it to flame together.

Travel with me, or just watch a DVD while cuddled up on the sofa eating popcorn and sipping a glass of wine. I am a decent cook when I have someone to do it for, and I enjoy exploring new foods if you like to cook too.

I have a bike rack on my car that holds 3, so a ride in the park with someone nice would help encourage me to get rid of that extra 15 lbs or so. Bring your son/daughter and we'll turn it into a picnic at the same time. (so I can put that 15 back on )

I enjoy contact, whether physical, mental or emotional. I like to touch and hold and to be touched and held. Kinda just an old softie.

First dates can be scary for BOTH of us. The idea would be to create a relaxed atmosphere where we can be comfortable. So when we are setting this up, be honest with me. If I suggest a park and you might be nervous walking a trail with me, say so up front.

My ideal, is something that we both could enjoy where there are a number of other people present as well. Both drive and meet there so if there is not any real chemistry, we can both go our separate ways. But plan enough time so that if there IS chemistry, there is somewhere else to go or something else to do afterward. An example: I know of a wine store that has a tasting every Friday from 6 to 8 pm. A couple doors down is a nice Italian restaurant for a leisurely meal.

Going to the beach to watch the birds from the pier and catch a sunset and a frozen yogurt is nice. If you get a bit cool, you can always stand closer :-)

This first date is when you have a chance to explore each other's likes and dislikes of course, but also a chance to look in each others eyes and touch their hand, or maybe even hug or kiss gently. Testing for that elusive chemistry. Sometimes it's like starting a campfire, slowly building. Other times it hits you like an explosion and you wonder later what happened.

So take it nice and gently, don't scare off a potential partner, and have a good time whatever you do.
