I am a journalist and professor who also plays and sings folk and rock songs. My professional interests include promoting peace, freedom, youth rights, community creativity, and environmental sustainability. Have been working and living on the Internet for many years. Live alone in great town with my two male cats - happily divorced a few years. Raised two awesome kids and now am living the life of my dreams in many ways. I have been a professor of sociology for 20 years; but will now be writing a book and consulting. Spend much of the nineties traveling and speaking about science and technology policy. Was married almost half my life and we are better friends now that we only see each other occasionally and work together on the kids. We grew apart in lifestyle and aspirations. Want to meet someone who is also happy on her own. So many people drag along the trials and tribulations of the past - forget it we only have today. I try to start each day and relationship fresh - with a "beginner's mind." I now have more energy and enthusiasm for life than ever. I am very creative and tend to live in the moment. Life is better with friends.

Anyhow, our first connections should be by e-mail and then phone. First "date" should be chance to talk and get to know each other - share food or coffee. I am looking for connections on the intellectual and spiritual levels so I expect that we will talk and laugh a lot. We can walk and talk outside if possible. Ideally we will have the same level of intellectual creativity and curiosity for life. We are truly going to learn, laugh, and love lots together.

Really want to meet someone who is open-minded and politically progressive. Tend to like women who are in reasonable shape - or height-weight proportional. I love to play and sing for hours, so would hope to meet a musician or dancer (amateur is fine!!) Really hope to connect deeply with a progressive and enthusiastic woman.

Once a man does that we can not send you an e-mail - no matter if it was only once and we did not hook up. Sometime over the past couple years I did commit that "sin" of contacting an interesting woman who checked an inappropriate box on the form. That is a stupid feature on this site which will SIGNIFICANTLY limit a woman's ability to meet an otherwise very good man!!
