About Me
Synopsis 1st, I live on my warm and cozy Sailing Yacht year round (sorry, I'm not rich...), ride a motorcycle and smoke. So, if boats, bikes and/or smoking bother you there's really no sense reading any further.
I'm outgoing, confident, nearly impossible to stress out, very intelligent but unpretentious, able to converse with anyone, loaded with common sense, level headed, multi talented, honest, all grown up, monogamous, loyal and I've always been told that I'm a great kisser (are you?). I'm NOT a TV sports freak but do watch the Pats. I'll skip all the other "normal" attributes that everyone should already have before thinking about dating. I'm also a very good cook and make my own wines and flavored liquors.
Dance/Music; About 6 yrs. ago I decided to take dance lessons, because like most guys, I danced like a rock (it wasn't pretty but was good for a lot of laughs). So I decided to go for some dance lessons and that lasted for almost 2 yrs since I don't quit once I start something. Now, I'm considered an intermediate/advanced Swing dancer (East Coast, West Coast, Lindy Hop, Charleston and Balboa). I'm currently taking "Salsa/Bachata/Merengue" lessons at the "Black Rep. Company" on Wednesday nights, 276 Westminster St. in Prov.. The lesson is open to anyone, is from 8-9 and it starts w/ basic beginner steps, then on to intermediate+ moves. They have public dancing after that until 1 am. I will listen and dance to almost any music except Country and Rap.
On my "to-do list"; Find a nice compatible girlfriend! (possibly you?) Get better at Salsa and Bachata! Be a bit more like "Capt. Ron" (The movie is even funnier if you understand boats/sailing) Sail down the East Coast and then to the Caribbean islands. (care to join me?) Buy a "Schooner" someday! :)
About you;
Sorry, but I'm not interested in the multitudes of serial daters or BBW's.
I would like to find someone who is intelligent, can hold a conversation, has realistic dating expectations, a good personality and I prefer the "girl next door" look. Next, since body type "average" and "a few extra lbs." seems to be way overused, how about someone who is proportional regarding height and weight, but not too thick either.
Anything else is negotiable unless you're a Psycho.
I realize that my lifestyle isn't for everyone, but if you've read this far down and think we might be good together, just email me and I will reply!
Ken,
Boat FAQ's;
1, No, I'm not the only one who lives on a boat, lots of people live on them full time. It's very popular, growing fast and most cost more than houses but are a heck of a lot more fun! No property taxes either!
2, It's dual heated with propane (works anyplace), electric (at dock) and is also insulated so it stays warm and comfortable inside, even in the winter. (12/22/08 0F outside/72F inside with the heat on low). During the other seasons it's even better, especially if you're anchoring off a beach, in a cove or harbor etc. and feeling the cool ocean breezes on those warm or sweltering nights is very refreshing.
3, It has a private head (bathroom) with a real toilet, vanity and shower.
4, It sleeps 4-5 people comfortably in 1 dbl. berth Master cabin and 3 singles but 1 or 2 couples would be best on a weekend or extended cruise (more room to move inside), along with 6'1" standing headroom inside and it's basically like being in a mid+ sized RV. 5, I also have the normal creature comforts like a decent sound system (Am/Fm/CD/Mp3 w/an iPod jack), TV, coffee maker, Microwave, Gas Grill/Oven, along with 110 volt shore power plugs and a power converter for use while it's away from the dock.
Some favorite sailing quotes;
"If you have to be somewhere by a certain date or time, you aren't cruising, you're racing.."
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails! Explore... Dream... Discover...
.
First Date
1st meeting? Chatting over coffee, drinks etc. usually work well, along with some realistic dating expectations. Weather permitting, Mini Golf is always fun... If we click, that's great, if we don't, at least we tried.
1st actual date? A mutual decision is always best, but drinks, dinner/appetizers always work well along with music/dancing and if you can't dance, I could teach you the basics!
p.s. A Sailing cruise to the waterfront watering holes is always an option down the line... :)
