** Likes - laughter and humour, the truth, warm conversation, sensuality, music, passion, dancing and exciting underground DJs. Further wonders of life - kissing, scenic walks, Strongbow, dark chocolate, Bournvita, spag bol, kebabs, principles, spirited people with a backbone, POF meets, forums and the many wonderful friends I've made on this site, the big wide tinterweb world, unexpected compliments, romance and smiles.
** Dislikes - Lies, homphobia, racism, bullies and injustice.....these with an absolute passion. Miseries, self-pity, sycophants, greed, unnecessary convention, stress, my self-doubt and obvious shortcomings.
** I absolutely adore music of all different types. Seriously eclectic to say the least, I like drum 'n' bass, techno, hardstyle, funky house, soul, good pop music, indie, reggae, cajun, hip hop and some filthy metal music! Artists and bands I have loved over the years include (in no particular order) Madonna, The Go-Betweens, The Family Cat, Ice Cube, The Cocteau Twins, Keane, Orange Juice, The Fall, Housemartins, Dean Martin, Bob Dylan, Spiritualized, Embrace, Kitchens of Distinction, The Editors, Slipknot, NIN, Big Black, Foo Fighters, Lee Perry, Bacharach and David, Nancy Sinatra, Dexys Midnight Runners, The Jam and Viv Stanshall. Fave DJs include Carl Cox, Andy Whitby, Candy Cox, Alex Kidd, Fab and Groove, Mark Moore, and probably far too many others to mention.
Unsurprising all-time hero - John Peel, may that great gent of the airwaves rest in peace. Tony Benn comes a close second :-)** Some of my favourite films include Seven, Apocalypse Now, It's A Wonderful Life, Eden lake, The Green Mile, Hannibal, Saw I - V, Sixth Sense and Night Of The Hunter. I don't watch much TV at all (I really should watch more, seriously) but I'm a sucker for classic sitcoms, reality stuff like Dragon's Den, The Apprentice and Hell's Kitchen, TV funnies like Buzzcocks and QI, live comedians (esp the genius comedy of Bill Bailey, Spike Milligan, Alan Davies, Billy Connolly and Peter Kay), and excruciating episodes of Kyle and Springer! I also enjoy watching programmes concerning the paranormal, and natural history documentaries.
** I do enjoy a good read, pretty much anything, although have got more horror on my bookshelves than anything else. Science and anything to do with the unexplained do interest me. For something humorous I still read Viz (yes, even at my age!), and if I buy a newspaper it tends to be The Independent.
** The photos are of my two dogs, Charlie (the Springer Spaniel) and Spike (the Lurcher). Both ridiculous in their own lovable ways!
