I really like my life to be uncomplicated. No drama. I am pretty content with the simple things in life. Not looking for an "instant relationship". Would much rather get to know someone at a slower pace. The next time I get into a relationship, I want to be sure that we like one another as persons, and are friends before it goes to the next step. Not trying to get into your pants, would rather try to get into your heart. I really do not even want to consider dating someone who does not have a place for God in their life, though I don't care for fanatics either as they usually do not know God at all.

Strange thing, you can make a list of all the things you look for in a person and then meet such a person and there is zero chemistry. I am a firm believer that some of the best relationships happen between the most unlikely people. After all, you have things in common with every other person on the planet. You pay taxes, you have to work to survive, and we all desire to be loved, appreciated and accepted. In other words, I don't think 2 people need to have identical interests to be compatiable.

Important things about me--I would rather be eating a good burger or pizza than dine in some fancy place, I am a sucker for stray cats and other animals, I am not a very disciplined person and though I would like to do better, I think that extremely disciplined people take the joy out of life.

Things I like: Maxfield Parrish paintings, intelligent conversation, folk music, Autumn and everything that goes with it, road trips, discovering new things, off beat type of films, Diners, drive-ins and dives, conspiracy theories, scarecrows, snowmen and mummers.

Things I don't like: constant cell phone use, NASCAR, euchre or any card game for that matter, trendy things, fanatics, casinos--I think they are depressing, bullies, drunks, people who lack compassion, people who do not like animals.

Remember that scene in the movie Titanic where Jack took Rose down to the party in steerage? There was wild Irish music and they danced on tables. That is my idea of a first date.
