Born in Wales, moved to Canada as a kid, I began programming computers in assembler as a kid in 1971, and by 1975 was programming PDP-11's in assembly under unix. I moved to Los Angeles and worked in the compute industry for a decade and helped bring the net to the LA area. I've had multiple fishtanks since I was 15 and did a lot of stuff on the net with this since 1986, I also write for TFH from time to time. In the past decade I've become involved in the vintage Mercedes "hobby" and still pursue my lifelong interest in wristwatches with a particular interest in prewar Lemania chronographs. I write a lot and take a lot of photographs. I have 4 kids and two ex wives and run the ORSC A-root alternative root server and had a lot to do with the early days of what is now ICANN.
I'd like to meet somebody accomplished, in any area, even the domestic arts :-) that has time on their hands. I'd like to go to NYC and Boston asap, and am thinking seriously about staying in Florida on a boat this winter.

 | Of all my e-buddies to date, I have to say that rsx11s is the most versatile, the most complex and yet the most down to earth person, I have slowly gotten to know of late. He has the charm and curiosity of a child, the tenacity of a bull, and it seems to me he carries within him, the heart of a nobleman. To add to this full range of capabilities, this man from Wales, can actually understand my Brooklyn Jewish jokes! And listen up… he cooks AND he computes. A respected trailblazer in his line of work, he is still without arrogance. Contemplative and purposeful: he tinkers with things, he nurtures his children, he tends to his cats and his aquariums. Most important, to the virtual community, he seems to care deeply about what is right for the planet and its people. Namaste to him. |
