I love exploring. Whether it is searching for the best divey bar in my neighborhood, or divining variations of the blues chords, I am always interested in what is possible. I collect new experiences like merit badges. I rarely become interested in something without becoming an expert on it.

I grew up in Los Angeles, attended Berkeley, and lived in San Francisco and New York. I believe that life should be fun, and that we should pursue the things which bring us happiness. I also believe strongly in honor and 'walking the walk' for the things I stand for.

Music is a big part of my life. I spent the better part of my 20s as a jazz saxophonist. However, my tastes are truly eclectic. Although my roots are in jazz, I love a wide range of music, such as Jeff Buckley, Cocteau Twins, Rickie Lee Jones, Digweed, Goldfrapp, Stravinski, The Smiths, and Miles Davis. Years of sax playing has also made me pretty good at Guitar Hero. I also do a decent Sinatra impression.

Lately, I've been enjoying bicycling. My track bike has become my primary mode of transportation and going on large group rides is a blast.

I find that I am really attracted to people who empathic and are passionate about helping others.

To me, first dates are meetings to see if there is any chemistry or a connection. Coffee, drinks, or ice cream are all good first dates.
