A satisfying relationship does include many aspects. If it were soly based on sex, it wouldn't last very long. The relationship that is.
Communication, being on the same level/wavelength, striving for similar goals and doing this for each other, for no reason and because you want to make them happy is also important. This, I'm sure has changed much over the years with respect to what one looks for and desires. I was saying to someone the other day, when a married couple are together, even though the wife knows that her husband loves her, she still likes to hear him say it and show her, in traditional and non-traditional ways.
Making breakfeast in bed for your loved probably would be an example of something traditional. Maybe a non-traditional example might be helping with the house chores. I'm not saying that men shouldn't do these things but that in earlier times this wouldn't have been something he would have done.
I myself, would take pleasure in being able to please my partner. It could be as simple as a back message, foot rub, playing with her hair. Opening the door of the car for her. holding hands at an older age. going above and beyond and putting effort into whatever it is that one would do. An important thing for a man would be to remember important dates, such as aniversary, birthday, song, first kiss, small things like putting the seat down in the washroom. (had to put that one in)
Remembering her favorite color and/or food, doing things without it having to be a special date...doing it just because. Sending favorite flowers to work with a note saying "I Love You." Maybe even picking up a certain brand of food or planning a weekend retreat of pampering.
Putting time into anything one does shows love, caring and affection. Not taking them for granted and giving them the love they need and support, wheather emotional, social, or listening and not just hearing. I would love to be able to make 'my other' happy and be able to remind her that I chose her to be my one and only for a reason, for the way she makes me feel, for the attention she gives me and for knowing me like a book. Being by my side no matter what, believing in me and to remind her that she is the love of my life and without her I would have no reason for living.
I'm kind of a romantic in a way. I like eing affecinate and physical. Cuddling in front of a fire place holding each other tight. Public display of each others love for one another. Doing whatever she asks without hesitation.
