i sense the movement which awakens me, almost unknowingly, as if i knew it was that time. the movement assures me, with the sheets pulling lightly across my body. i feel her hand brush across my shoulder as it leaves the bed. light muffles in the background and the room is silent again. i pull my arm up to lift the sheets, and tilt my body to sit on the edge of the bed. eyes still closed, i lower my head to my hands, elbows supported by my knees. there's no going back now. i pause for a moment and imagine what there is in my life. it draws me up, and i put on my clothes. i walk downstairs, the aroma filling my senses, the warm cup sitting on the counter releasing its' own life to its' surroundings. i lift the cup as i walk by, heading towards the door. she sits aloft on the side of the railing, her hair as still as the morning, overlooking the deep blue sky and the rising sun. i stand near her, and feel the warmth she provides in essence. i kiss her cheek and she smiles, never turning her gaze from the rising sun. and together, in silence, we enjoy how all mornings should be.
