What about me? About me right now there are books and papers. Papers of blank trying to escape before I foul them with words and thoughts and notions and clots. Other than that: I am a professional soap carver, making the busts of Stalin, Lenin and other leaders out of giant bars of Ivory soap because it is 99% pure. I like to make grand statements and never back them up. I like to divert conversation toward imaginary monks outside the window and then steal the last cucumber sandwich. I like movies in the movie theater, plays without singing and books with some pictures but usually ones that aren’t at all related to what I am reading. I was a spy with squeaky shoes, a sponge diver with a fear of water, a politician with a fear of lying and a baker. Now, I am none of those things. I walk places most times because I can say hi to strangers and make them wonder if they know me, have met me or fondled my wife. I don’t have a wife so, the joke’s on them. I can be reached but, it’s usually better not to.
I hired a team of Egyptian scribes and unemployed third world dictators to write and proof my profile, like all things in love and politics, it is a pack of lies.
But the truth does lie somewhere in between. I didn't want to write the usual ..I like being in the air and walking with a stick and the color blue ... I mean ...isn't a sense of the absurd, the winding of the imagination more fun?
I am interested in the arts but, not so much the crafts. I like books with words and movies with people talking. I like fall and the ocean. I am interested in live theater, music and the word duodenum. I am oddly interested in Pelicans. not from a scientific point but rather from a political and religious point. I recently acquired a tool box and I am interested in making that work for me. I am sure there is more but my fingers are running to the market for guitar strings ham hocks and condoms ...so...

A first date should be something where we can talk, face to face... coffee and chatting, that would lead to the hours dripping by un noticed. The day wending into night, night tipping it's hat to morning. Summer slipping out of it's shorts and into it's winter wool. All while we talk and feel as if we haven't been in those spots for more than ten minutes. That's not real, I understand, but, i the ideal world, that would be the ideal date to me.
