About Me
I love books, I always buy too many of them and then never get chance to read them all.
Doing the washing-up while watching the leaves blow off the trees is the best way to unwind (with a glass of red wine obviously)
I like to travel, this year I've gone mountaineering in Sierra De Gredos, horseriding in the Himalayas, sightseeing to the Taj Mahal, sunbathing in Dubai and a daytrip to Dudley.
I hate big chain stores, and will do my best to shop at local green grocers and eat in little family run restaurants.
When someone finally solves world peace, it'll probably involve white chocolate.
Getting off your backside and getting involved is better than complaining on some web forum - you really can make a difference!
All the best movies involve either ninja robots, or Tom Hanks & Meg Ryan.
Talking of getting off your backside, I enjoy outdoorsy stuff like hiking, canoeing, rockclimbing. Ahhh yes, can't beat camping on the side of a Welsh mountain :)
Do I surround myself with gadgets because I work in IT, or do I work in IT as an excuse to play with all the latest toys? I'm not sure, but if it is shiny and useless, then I probably want it!
Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's version of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" is without doubt, THE best song ever.
I do enjoy city life, double decaf skinny lattes and wifi hotspots. badly cooked chateaubriand with potato dauphinoise, designer Belgium beers and a bit of modern jazz in the background. After a while though, it gets a bit too much - that's when I'll head for that Welsh mountain.
I have a small sailing dinghy that will probably never see the sea, but that doesn't stop me restoring her.
White chocolate will probably be involved with curing the common cold too.
I once flew from Germany which was where I lived at the time, to Los Angeles just to go to a "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" party and then flew back again the next day.
Sometimes, if it's cold and miserable I say to hell with the camping. There are times when a nice B&B in the countryside is a much better option, with a roaring fire and a nice bottle of wine.
I'm a bit of a geek, although you probably guessed that already with the Buffy party and the gadgets.
I'm happy with my life, I have a nice group of close friends who mean the world to me but it would be nice to add someone special into the mix.
I'd like to meet someone who I could have an intelligent conversation with, someone who can open my eyes to aspects of life I'd not considered, someone whose very existence doesn't revolve around the housemates on Big Brother.
First Date
With the weather being what it is, I think safest bet would be getting to know each other over a good cup of coffee (except all we have round here is Starbucks).
If that goes well then maybe take advantage of Brums exploding cultural scene, I've wanted an excuse to try dinner at Jessica's
