Relatively speaking, would you believe I'm actually fairly normal? Yet, a single lad working the online dating paces. I've had few long-termers, but looking back, bad timing may have been the biggest culprit. Used to be I thought I wanted the American dreamt nuclear family, but now I feel I may have begun to chart more ambivalent waters. Wait, wait, wait, keep reading...I remain open-minded and nothing would please me more than to meet someone I could treat like a queen and be committed to. Reader, please, if not for me, do it for my sister!
I moved to NYC about nine years ago from DC. Some have figured that out immediately because I've often been told I'm too nice to be from NY. Rest assured, there's still a tiny bit of mischievousness creeping around in there. My interests are posted to read, though I would add that I'm passionate about each of them, but it doesn't mean you have to be. My membership to the MET is one of my favorite pastimes and the live music in this city is sometimes what I think keeps me here - from Marsalis' trumpet to Buckley's angelic voice, from Duke's sophisticated piano to the rage of Rage. I love to cook and if I may say, this is where there may be some huge payoff potential should you assume the role of queen.

I'll start by saying that I think one of the coolest things a woman ever said to me before we met was, "hey, there's no pressure. Let's just go out and have a good time and if it doesn't work out, we can still be friends and maybe introduce each other to our other friends". An awesome attitude, I think. But I do get anxious in those early days. Sometimes I think it impedes the real me from coming out. After all, we all want to make a great first impression don't we? I'm just not sure there isn't something to be said for second impressions as well.
Nevertheless, I think at this point in my life, I just want it to be easy. Drop the pretense, throwing a curse word or inappropriate thought in there every once in awhile is fine by me. I prefer it. Let's just be nice about it. Conversation should flow, but not overflow to the point of having less in the tank for next time. We're both in it to have fun. Would you be sure to remind me of that?
