WAR STORIES & ANNECDOTES

I've been at this for a while and let's just say the experience has been somewhat colorful at times. Had a date who was a walking talking conversation peice. Never imagined a living, breathing person could be so ditzy! When it comes to blonde moments , this girl is one. From the time she gets up in the morning til she lays down her head at night. I really should have made arrangements to tape the date for a reality show. "IT REALLY IS TRUE", she giggled breathlessly over dinner at the nice Italian restaraunt- "BLONDES DO HAVE MORE FUN"!

That one definitely rocked my world.Going on two years and I'm still laughing!

If you make major changes to your apprearance- esp hair color- please let me know before we meet. Talked to a lovely lady with auburn hair in the pictures posted on her profile. It was light brown / blonde when we met. Not only was I weirded out a little but also she ended up waiting around in Applebee's because it took me a while to figure out who she was!Must have been a "Brunette Moment".

Had a blonde do it to me too. She had such a lovely face that would go with just about any color or style and she changed it often. Two lessons to be had there. Variety is the spice of Life and it can pay to have a daughter who is a professional hair dresser!

Always be positive. As you can see from my observations: even dates that don't work out can make things interesting as we sift for our Saphires in the Sands of Life.

Winter time.
My least favorite season but we must make the most of it. Snow tubing anyone?
We could have a picknic in my greenhouse. It's pretty nice in there on a summer day and looks a lot like the tropical house at Phipps Conservatory.
We could go there too, or the zoo which has a few nice indoor exhibits I'm told.

There's also the ho-hum default of dinner and a movie. Had to mention it because it's usually what you do on a first date- though why bring it up first thing because it's considered quite ho-hum by the leading authorities on dating.

Caving anyone? Recently got a book on Pennsylvania caves. Quite a few to explore and it's a constant 5o degree F year round!


Spring
Escape with me to Apalachicola FL and the Forgotten Coast. It's a long haul but worth it when you get there. My last vist in March of 08 Dogwood trees and Azaleas were blooming there while snowflakes were still flying back home! It's a charming little town by the Gulf of Mexico where you can relax and enjoy life at a slow pace. Loved the beach on St Joe's Penninsula and ventured inland to big time Cracker Country for adventures in fish collecting worthy of Indiana Jones. Headed back to the coast with a cooler of Apalachee Shiners netted from a creek near the crossroads of Telogia I had a mishap braking for one of those free roving hound dogs obiquitous to the Southland. To keep a long story short; the cooler tipped and fish were swimming at my feet! Managed to salvage most of them alive and the car was not damaged by the water.
The desirability of drying out the car before returning to the chilly north made for a convenient excuse to extend my stay a few more days!

Take a hike or wildflower walk when we get back.

In the summertime when the weather is fine we can hang out- at your place or mine, back rubs and candlelight dinners (I'm not a bad cook either!). Drive old country roads with the windows down listening to CDs and our favorite stations. Stop at the DQ for some ice cream on the way to an outing or drive-in movie. Spend a day at the amusement park or the zoo or take a daytrip to some remote lake or mountaintop. Pitch a blanket and have a picknic on the rocks at Ohiopyle! And weekend getaways to places we've never been before.

Fall
A great time to be outdoors. Take a walk in the light of the Harvest Moon or to appreciate the turning of the leaves on a warm weekend afternoon. Maybe an Oktoberfest. You can be my naughty Bavarian barmaid!
