which explains why some women wear fishnets!

I am just 10 inches tall... so you can keep me in your pocket. I have one eye (in the middle of my forehead)... so I won't be looking at other women. I have a great relationship with my ex-wife... She hangs on a hook in my closet. Alright. None of that is true, but it offers a glimpse of my unique sense of humour.

This is who I really am: (My best female friend kept me honest) First and foremost, I am a single dad who has raised three incredible young adults - one of whom is still at home. We are an intellectual family but we enjoy playing Wii and jamming to Keith Urban or The Stones every bit as much as playing trivial pursuit and consuming Dvorak. I am in the public eye, so I need a partner with developed social skills and a great sense of humour.

I may not know exactly what I am looking for in a woman, but I have made enough mistakes to know what I don't want - so here's my laundry list:

NO ALCOHOLICS! - If most of the pictures in your profile include you with an alcoholic beverage, chances are we aren't a good match. More importantly, you are likely already married to the bottle and in permanent denial about that fact. Listen, I just don't want to be involved with someone who A)drinks too much, or B)drinks too often. I have no problem with sharing a few drinks, or even getting buzzed as long as you are not driving. But I really am shocked when anyone tries to justify throwing up on someone's shoes or forgetting what they did the night before. There's much more to life than the bottle can offer - and that is a primary consideration for me when thinking about a partner.

I Prefer NON-SMOKERS! - I previously would not date smokers whatsoever. While I do not like the smell or taste, I realise that I, too, am a human and have faults of my own. But I prefer non-smokers and, should things get serious, I would ask that any long-term mate would consider kicking the habit. I am worth it... I promise.

NO "OVER EASY!" - Let's be honest - Everyone loves physical intimacy. But I've learned the hard way that love has to be about more than just that. Let's just try and take it slow. That being said, I have a financial interest in a successful "lingerie store," so I am anything but prude. I am all about being sexy - with the right woman and in due time.

OK, that's my list... pretty fair and brutally honest, I think. If my comments offend you - please think about WHY you are upset BEFORE sending an email to say what a narrow-minded person you think I am.

Ok, now let's move on to the good stuff....

I was a chef for many years, so I hope you enjoy fine foods (even if you don't cook). I have traveled and studied abroad and I make attempts at three languages (English, French and Spanish). All of that aside, I am a pretty ordinary guy. I like to curl up on the couch and watch a good movie or read a compelling book. Although I enjoy the symphony and fine wine, I am equally at home with Pat Green and a Dr. Pepper.

I am in a creative profession that often takes me (and, occasionally, a date) to concerts, sporting events, charitable gatherings and other interesting outings. My passion (not my profession – despite the music and photos on my profile) is songwriting. I am also a professional photographer and published writer, so I hope we can share meaningful conversations and make our own "Kodak moments." What I really want is to share the remainder of my days with someone who has an interesting life all her own.

At my day job (if you can call it that) I work for one of the world's most respected charitable organizations. I hope anyone I am involved with will support that conviction. More about that subject in person, but it is worthy of more than one paragraph. I know what it REALLY means to be rich. For me, TRUE treasure is found in loving and serving others.

My ideal date would be an attractive and well-read music lover who is a lady in public but assertive enough to keep me in check. I have a very strong personality, but I enjoy being around authentic people who have their own opinions on important political, social and religious issues. However, I am not a good match for political extremes - either on the left or the right. Most importantly - she must be unique! Not necessarily beautiful, just lovely to me.

I insist on maintaining open communication and I place enormous emphasis on honesty. I’ve never had any trouble holding the attention of beautiful women, but now I am looking for MUCH more than another pretty face. I want to find that one special person - a sensitive woman quirky enough to understand the mind of this very unusual man. I desire a strong and trustworthy lady who doesn't need me to complete them – someone who simply wants to enjoy some time together.

My mother taught me to be a gentleman and I want to find a sweet and loving girl who also knows how to let her hair down. I wish you only the best in love and in life – I’m keeping my (one and only) eye on you!

Many people have asked about the song attached to this profile... Yes, I composed the score and lyrics, and I sang while a friend and mentor played piano. The voices of my children open and close the score. Yes, the lyrics are loosely based upon my own life experiences.

Let's start with a motorcycle ride. We could cruise downtown Dallas, take a stroll through the Dallas Museum of Art or find out who is performing at the Myerson. Then we can mosey back toward a smaller downtown - in McKinney - for dinner or just a cup of coffee at a bistro or cafe. Of course, I am always up for preparing a nice meal (my place or yours) then sitting on the porch with a big glass of sweet tea. Yep! I am (very much) a Texan.
