It's not all bad, but let's just start with the fact that I live with my ex-wife and my 25 year old son. I am looking for V (yes, that may as well be a reference to Pynchon as it is to any thing else - a hopeless search for a mythical female) . . . or Y, as the case may be.

Wouldn't it be great if POF offered more accurate descriptive labels like "Drinking: Drinks Like a Fish"? At least MY profile could be more accurate. Or under body type there could be options more in line with modern American lifestyles, like: Dumpy, Rotund, Obese, Flabby, I Gave Up a Long Time Ago, Anorexic, Massive, Lumbering, Cumbersome . . .

I did not take the personality profile, so my default "Fish Personality" is No Personality . That's kind of harsh, don't you think? OMG! Look who's Talking!!!

Please be attractive, creative and open-minded, fit, curvy, and imaginative. Be bold enough to meet me, kind enough to accept me, and loving enough to embrace me. Oh yes, and literate. Spelling and grammar count. Not that I'm Peter Perfect, but, you know, typos are one thing and communication is another, entirely.

I see some faces on more than one dating service. Can none of us can find what we are looking for? Some of us have been looking for a long time - years in fact! And some of us don't look anything like our photos or our stated age. I, on the other hand, look every bit as goofy in person as I do in my photos, and I am my stated age.

If you and I correspond, it should be because we have a bona fide interest in finding something special. And if we can make some free time to be together in the midst of our busy, busy lives, we should make the most of it. Eh?
