Personality dimensions and interacting style

~ My dominant mood is upbeat. I have learned to be open and accessible with my emotions, to derive enrichment from them, including difficult feelings like hurt and fear. This makes intimate conversations more intimate, the connection deeper and stronger.

~ On that theme, since I am essentially a romantic, I often like to play chef and prepare unique dishes, listen to music, laugh at our banter, and enjoy an occasional dance...the mushier the song the better.

~ I have learned how to connect to the youthful spirit within me.

~ I have thoughtful compassion for others. I seldom act impulsively. I seek diplomatic solutions (win/win) to problems.

~ I enjoy my own company as much as I enjoy the company of others. It's a good balance.

~ I hold beliefs based on cognition and universal moral principles and am open to new ways of thinking and believing that evolve out of intellectual curiosity. This is what drives my academic research and heritage activism.

~ Research shows Fort Gwillimbury, selected by John Graves Simcoe as the northern terminus of Yonge Street in 1793, will be destroyed by the Bradford Bypass. A decade-old battle to save this national historic site ( upper 5% significance), on the east branch of the Holland River, from destruction by a highway continues.

~ I am not a slave to any plan. When moved by the free spirit within me, I grab one of my kites and head over the fence to the meadow, where I can feel the strength and purification of the ancient wind.

~ I am accepting* of other people and flexible enough to listen to something new and different, even if it is outside my comfort zone.

~ Since humour contributes to wellness, laughter will permeate conversations. I like to banter. That is, to speak in a witty, good natured and playful manner...a form of cognitive ping-pong.
