Do you know what my headline means or where it came from?
I'm a single male, 50 y/o who lives and runs a small business in the Fairfax area. I'm part Irish, Dutch, English and supposedly some Inuit Indian way back in the woodpile somewhere. House broken, plays well with others and educated. Workaholic at times, but I do enjoy time off with the right person. Could that be you? I enjoy most of the same things others do, but I also like doing spur of the moment things like a day trip to someplace interesting. I have a husky build along with a deep voice, but don't let any of that scare you. I'm a puppy at heart with boyish charm. Some women like that.
My ideal date and/or mate? Hmmmm… I'm not sure I know anymore. So, I have quit looking. Ha! Just kidding. The dating scene can be rather strange and frustrating. There are often too many expectations which can lead to disappointments. Therefore, I'm looking for female friends to hang out and do things of shared interest with instead. Yep! That’s my new approach to all of this. No strings attached. No expectations. It’s just lunch sort of thing. If anything more comes of it, then that will be great!
For your edification: Women who look like they belong on the cover of a magazine may catch my eye, but I tend to be more drawn toward the nice looking “girl next door” type. Okay, that may sound a little corny, but it is what I tend to like. Mary Ann was just as good looking as Ginger in my book. I like someone who is down to earth. Someone who can simply be herself with little reservation and has learned to recognize and face their own faults. Someone who is motivated, but not driven. Someone who has good values and morals, but likes to be a little wild on occasion. A good sense of humor and positive attitude are important! Someone who can carry on an interesting conversation, but enjoys quiet time as well. I have very strong ties with my siblings. I hope you do with yours as well.
I am not interested if you have excessive baggage (although a little is considered normal), play head games, are currently dating a dozen guys at the same time, are still married, are narcissistic or pessimistic all the time.
It's nice if you add me to your favorites list. However, an email with more than just a "Hello" would be even better.
