I am 50 years old and currently split time between Indianapolis/northern Indiana and Orange County, California while working on two totally different business ventures -- writing and teaching, and managing an automotive technology business. I am interested in meeting an intelligent, articulate, fun-loving and adventuresome woman. I have traveled throughout the United States, living in Indiana, Washington, D.C., New York City, South Texas (Houston as well as Brownsville, on the Mexican border), New Orleans, Kansas City, and San Diego. I have also lived in Italy and Mexico as an adult, and in the Dominican Republic for 10 months when I was 9 years old. In total, I've visited 37 different countries, so I can confidently say I am not a dull "couch potato" who does nothing but sit in front of the TV. On the contrary, I live life to the fullest -- I have been to the pyramids, climbed the great wall of china, scaled the parthenon in athens, hired my own boat to navigate the amazon river, negotiated and leased my own condo for a month in rio de janerio, independently toured italy and greece, spent six weeks travelling alone in mainland china (stopping in beijing, xian, kunming, changsha, shanghai, guangchou and eating like a fiend in the szechuan province), hiked into the golden triangle in thailand, crossed into east germany before the wall fell, listened to world-class orchestras in vienna and to scathing punk rock in florence, italy and salvador, brazil, climbed the grand tetons in north america and the andes mountains in south america, and like an idiot I bravely (?) dove off the famous daredevil cliffs in acapulco (once!). There is more, but that's a fair sample. I used to work for a radio station -- I love all types of music, even some country, which is a stretch for me! I've been to over 180 concerts worldwide, and continue to add to the list. I play basketball, soccer, golf, and I'm a huge baseball fan, having grown up rooting for the cubs. I enjoy life and occasionally I actively seek out adventure. I'm interested in a woman who knows herself and what she wants from life, and is attracted to (or at least is positively challenged by) an intellectual, accomplished genteman with a strong, dynamic personality, and a playful view of life as well ......

I prefer that my date choose the time and place of our first encounter, which will assure that she feels totally comfortable and secure in the ambiance and surrounding environment we experience. While I'm interested in a world of new possibilities that may come into focus soon after we first meet, I think that with the uncertainty that comes from meeting someone on the internet, it is responsible and respectful for a gentleman to honor a woman's natural desire to make certain that a man is who he says he is. My picture is recent, my answers to any questions will be accurate and honest, and my personal background information is all truthful. I'm not worried about a first meeting between us -- and I wouldn't want my companion to worry either.
