As with everyone else I'm looking. For what? Who knows...dating, hanging out...I want something long term, but know it takes time to build. I don't want to jump into something too intense and I don't want anything cheap and meaningless.

What do I want in a man? Someone who can make me laugh and let me cry...someone who's happy in his own space and welcomes me in. I don't want a soulmate because I don't believe they exist...I ultimately want someone to share the intimate parts of my day...the 'getting ready for bed talks' about the exploits of family and friends...the conversations about the water bill and the MOT being due. The small things that you find yourself wanting to share with a partner when you're alone.

I supppose I'm really not looking for more than anyone else...I really don't want to be 'penpals' so if you're not interested in meeting just say so. I'm quite happy to chat, but not forever.

A couple of things that really annoy me...

Text speak...I am not remotely inclined to try and decipher what you're trying to say to me, so probably won't respond to a message full of it.

Sending an IM without an email first. I won't respond to your IM if you don't say hello in a message first.

In 'profession', the cute little replies. 'I have one thanks', 'yes', 'counting grains of sand'...it's important to me to know what you do. I don't need to know exactly, but the field is nice. I don't want your money...I just want to know you're a well rounded person and a profession is part of it.

The first get together isn't a date...it's sizing each other up. We all have types we're attracted to and if there's no chemistry it probably won't go any further. I prefer to meet somewhere for an hour...have a chat and if things go well then have a real date.

I really have no preference as to what we do...quiet and relaxed help though.
