About Me
I guess like everyone else here I'm just looking for a new way to meet people. Personally I'm really not into clubbing. I mean baby seals are so cute, why would you want to club them? Oh you thought I meant night-clubbing? Well why would it be any more fun to club baby seals at night?
So, aside from walking down Granville and laughing at the overly-intoxicated barstars, I like to keep active playing a variety of sports and adventuring into the great outdoors. Soccer is big for me and I'm enjoying playing through the winter, while daydreaming about going to South Africa for the World Cup in the summer. For a night out, I'm always up for hanging out at the pub with friends, but really look forward to the opportunities to go to an intimate venue with a great live band. I recently moved into my own place so I have been doing little home improvement projects, and always keep an eye on the local real estate market. I like discovering new and unique restaurants around town and of course eat plenty of sushi. I can go without cable tv, but can't imagine life without the internet. I can be a tech geek at times for sure, but tend to stray far outside of the stereotype. By that I mean that I'm not sweaty, overweight, and living in my parents' basement. I also have reasonably good social skills, and no interest in playing advanced dungeons & dragons.
I work downtown, and have transitioned from a purely technical job into middle management. Sometimes I miss the sense of accomplishment after solving a complex problem, and I definitely feel like I'm not learning as much these days as I used to. I think because of that I'll likely go back to school at some point, but I'm not sure if it will be for a graduate degree to get further ahead in my current profession or a complete change of career path.
Interested? Have lots of stuff in common? Drop me a line. Just please make it more than a one-liner of "hey, how r u?" I'm sure you find those messages just as annoying as I do, along with all the freaks who add you to their favourites, but never message you. Save the creeping for facebook!
First Date
I like to keep it simple on a first date, so meeting for coffee or drinks is a good way to start out. Maybe a round of pool or walk in the park. If things go well the date can always be extended.
