I'm 57 years, slender, and vegetarian. My goals above all others are to live peacefully, honorably and in harmony with the universe. OMG that sounds too idealistic, but dang it, it's true. I've grown very weary of negativity and declare it's time to slow down and enjoy. I am a mother of three, and grandmother of three, living in a pine forest, finally! And loving it, even if it is a challenge alone. Shhhhh...truth be known, I love a challenge.
Separated last year after 33 years and looking to make FRIENDS. I have a background in day care, teaching tot ballet and costuming but am currently a one on one aide to a differently abled teen in education. I think my favorite job was backstage theater at a college. There was something fun about being behing the scenes.
I love to garden, especially here as it is quite a challenge compared to southern California, and lets face it, a pine tree backdrop is far more desirable than a block wall. Gardening rocks.
My taste in music is varied to say the least and need I say movies with great costumes work for me? Ok, I like historical stuff and documetaries. Not so say I don't like movies. I'm not into violence (surprise) or scary movies.
I am a simple gal who is at the moment quite recluse, I aim to change that.....as soon as I can tear myself away from trying to clear that 100ft perimeter around my house...the acreage is, well a long term goal and harder than I dared imagine, a constant work in progress. The upside, there is always the upside...the bird watching opportunities abound and I found my biceps. My daughter says my arms look threatening....she is such a comedian. Seriously, it's so not true. Should have moved here before my 50's though. You should see some of these local mountain mammas throw the logs, feed and bales around!
I love to dance, I mean I really love to dance...and sing. There is seldom a day I don't dance to the wind in the pines or the song of a bird, the raindrops...on my front porch...or in the halls at school. Why not? My dogs find it amusing. So does my grandson! And, so do the kids at school. If I can make someone smile it's all-good.
My brother recently took me on a patio boat on the lake....which was sooo relaxing. It was awesome, the kind of day that suits me just fine. I'd like to find a calm beach to body surf in again. I miss the beach, early in the day, before anyone arrivesand the surf is glassy...sleeping next to the ocean is something every human should experience. Ahhh the sound of the waves just lulls you to sleep. I hope to travel about more, not necessarily far, and confess to a burning desire to take a billion photographs...I have this crazy idea that one day I will use them to paint from. Artist? Not yet, or not really. but it's one of the many things I plan to try before I'm too old to move.
I've recently read more with the Dalahi Llama and I think the man is awesome; I plan to study more in this direction. I mourn the loss of tribal mentality in our society. Were we to look toward the benefit of all rather than the benefit to only ourselves, imagine. A girl can dream.
I am not into fake people, I require honest friendships. Liars or unmotivated individuals need not respond, as I don't have time, there is too much to do in a short amount of time here folks. I firmly believe we are all kinds and should never fear being our true selves. We all fit somewhere. I'm a good friend and expect you will be the same. I think I covered enough bases for you to get an idea of what kind of haircut I am.
I am looking for friendships, folks to share life with. Did I mention I've grown weary of doing everything alone? Yeah, I know.......get off the mountain! I live to laugh so bring your sense of humor and let's get busy having fun.
