About Me
Whether I’m at home or out on the road you will often find me singing along with Tim McGraw, Cheryl Crowe, or Delbert McClinton. If I’m at home, maybe I’m cleaning, sewing, dancing, or doing my paperwork. If I’m on the road I’ll be the one in your rear view mirror that looks like she’s talking to you or herself.

Some mornings and evenings, I can be found walking in the country area that I live in (weather permitting of course). Fresh air perks up those old brain cells and walking gets the endorphins happening. Ice just gives you bruises, so I pass on those days.

When riding season starts you’ll find me looking for new roads to ride. A longer road trip is a blessing that I thoroughly enjoy. I love meeting up with all those others that like wide open spaces and curves like I do. Sometimes, one of the kids is on the back enjoying the scenery and the ride. Often, somewhere along the way you’ll find me stopping for coffee and conversation, a chapter or two of my current book or just thinking about where I’m heading to, or coming from. I still see myself as a novice rider in some ways and relate strongly to Dudley in “Wild Hogs”.

I have started camping in the last few years with mixed success. One time while I was out riding my 18 or 20 speed (how many do we really need?) around the campgrounds I had an altercation with a tree. I lost! I finished the ride with a black eye and a fractured cheek. I swear, that tree just jumped in front of me out of nowhere! Don’t worry, I’m still beautiful, but now maybe you can see why I relate to Dudley. My camping last year was during the Nakusp Music Festival and I faired much better. I’m looking to do a repeat of that experience this year.

I’m an enthusiastic and loyal fan to my chosen teams (which includes my son’s). Whether I’m at the arena, ball field, or stadium, or at home watching on TV I do tend to get quite vocal. Luckily, for those around me one of the side affects of having survived a life threatening experience a few years ago is that my vocal chords give up easily. That means no one has to suffer too long with my cheering or moaning.

Here’s an anecdote that parallels how I see my life. When I first got my motorcycle license I lived at the coast. I was out riding and enjoying the scenery and maybe just a little distracted by everything around me. I looked up to see the other rider I was with stopping. There was a red light I was approaching far too fast (I failed to see the cautionary flashing yellow lights). In reaction mode, I slammed on my brakes (front only) and slid half way into the intersection. Miracles happen! Nobody had jumped the light. My pride was the only casualty and I was a bit shaken. What did I learn from that? How does it parallel my life? Well, there is lots of danger out there, and sometimes I am blissfully unaware of it, but somehow I always survive. I’m blessed!

As far as body type goes, mine is Rubenesque, but they don’t list that here. If you’d like a picture I have some recent ones that I’m quite willing to share. You show me yours and I’ll show you mine.

Let’s look at the example of my fight with the tree. The man I’m looking for would rush over to see that I’m alright, wipe off the tears, look deep into my eyes and say, “You’re in trouble. When the tree police show up, I’m turning you in!” A man that would say, “This is what I’m thinking of doing. What are your thoughts on that?”

I’ve got this picture of a man standing close to me with a rod and reel, carefully explaining what I need to do to get my rod ready, then moving a little distance away to give me room to do it myself. Making suggestions to make it easier for me. Helping me to gain confidence in a new skill. Then when I finally catch one that is really only a few inches long, exclaiming, “That is the biggest FIRST fish ever. Let me get my camera.” his eyes sparkling with humour and happiness. Eyes that sparkle with laughter are very sexy.

We’re sitting at the counter in the kitchen having a serious discussion, when a favourite song comes on and he comes around the counter, takes me in his arms and starts to dance with me.

We’re off discovering new roads and I race by. He opens the throttle and… If you could see yourself in any of these scenarios then I’d love to hear from you.

It would be nice to share some of the same interests, but we don’t need to share everything.

I wish you all Happy Fishing!

First Date
First dates come after the first meeting. So then it would be nice to go dining, dancing, go for a ride if you have a motorcycle. Play a little pool, miniature golf...
