I'm a healthy, hearty, light drinking, non-smoking, emotional, passionate, agnostic, politically liberal gentleman with a healthy libido who is active in every way. Whew!! With all that said, don't think I'm rabid about any of those things. I just wanted all that said so you don't waste your time if any of it would be impossible for you to live with.

I like things that require both physical and mental participation. I work out at the gym almost daily and ride my bicycle regularly. I usually dance from one to four times a week. I'm domestic, clean, neat and enjoy cooking, especially with a woman who shares that interest. I'm above average in intelligence, read a good deal, and enjoy moderately easy crossword puzzles.

Although I'm a former Marine, I'm not macho, rather a bit on the shy side, even timid at times. I've pissed away most of my wealth trying to save a business and the jobs of my 40 employees, yet live quite well on a modest income. The single largest investment that I salvaged is in the housing market. Obviously it will be some time before I benefit from that unless GW considers me an investment banker and bails me out. For that reason, I'm not going to come knocking on your door, so to speak, if I suspect that you have a need to take week-end treks to Maui or spend the summer in Europe. However, do not hesitate to contact me if you have the means to take me on such adventures. I didn't say I was proud or humble.

I have little to no interest in the boob tube, rarely even watch sports much any more. I'm socially conscious and heavily involved in volunteer activities; spent nearly two weeks as a Red Cross volunteer in So-CA during the wild fires last year and a like amount of time in TN after the spring tornados. Most recently I spent a couple of weeks in Iowa and Illinois helping feed the victims of the flooding. I continue doing disaster related activities on an almost daily basis.

I want to be in a relationship that is more than a physical attraction, one where we can be proud of what we've done this day, we have an interest in those around us and don't spend too much time admiring ourselves. I'm just so tired of the single's scene where every woman seems to think that unless a guy is macho and exciting in a crowd he's a loser.

I've sought after spunky women with attitudes in the past and still want that but with the proviso that she is prepared to compromise and not get her way in every decision in life. My ideal of the woman I'd love to be with is reasonably healthy, a non-smoker and active, have a social conscience, able to accept life as it is, yet still able to dream and reach for the unattainable from time to time. It would be nice if she were short and petite. Wow, I'm out of breath again. And it wouldn't hurt to have a sense of humor. I'm really not that hard to please. I even dated a Republican once. That's not entirely true: She kept me chained in a windowless room for 18 months, waterboarding me regularly until I finally consented to swear that I loved GW because he is the wisest person ever to reside in the White House. When she realized that I was not telling the truth, she offered to do a prisoner swap for the ghost of Spiro Agnew and I escaped while the negotiations were going on.
