About Me
Carpe Deim! If you feel the same and are looking to find someone to share your dreams with in Music City, keep reading…. Since rescuing my dog last September, trips to the dog park have become an "essential" fun activity for us both. A trip to the gym, or just a run, is a basic part of my day. Spending time with friends and family, especially my daughter, is a wonderful addition to any day.
My daughter, Rachel, seems wise beyond her years. Rachel lives with me more than half the time, but as a teenager, her life is filled with activities inside and outside of school. Rach plays on a very competitive travel soccer team during months her high school team is on hiatus. My daughter knows it is time for me to once again find someone to share my life with; her encouragement is a significant reason I decided to give this site a try. I am a technology consultant specializing in helping small and medium size businesses with networking and web site related issues. Most of my clients are located in middle Tennessee, but some are located in other parts of the country. I have a BA in English and a MBA from the University of Colorado. I also have attended several post graduate specialized courses through the years covering technology and leadership issues.
I love to travel, especially with someone special. Various islands in the Caribbean, as well as Mexico are my favorite destinations. Locally, I enjoy a wide variety of restaurants and hangouts. I am comfortable anywhere from Southstreet to Flemings.
Among my favorite things are, a great meal with someone special. An hour at the dog park watching kids and animals loving every second of life. A great NFL game. Discovering a new band. Watching my daughter's soccer team . Sitting by the fire or in my hot tub. A great workout.
My family ran an amusement park for several generations. I grew up thinking riding a roller coaster twenty times in a row on a random summer afternoon was perfectly normal. I always loved watching people laugh and enjoy themselves as they wandered carefree through the park. I have found there is more than a little similarity between life and a merry-go-round (those rollercoaster’s I am so fond of offer a rather compelling metaphor as well). I am looking to find some of that carefree laughter and happiness again in my own life again, so here I am!
I’ve lived in Music City (aka Nashville) for about fifteen years and I have come to call this town, “home.” Still, no one mistakes my northern voice for that of a southerner. I love to travel, but prefer to do so with my guide book in hand. Wandering at one’s own pace, be it on a trip or through life in general, is something I greatly value. It is great to plan a trip, whether it is out of the country, or just to a nice dinner around town, with someone. Finding my way to Nashville, and this point in life, has involved a long, winding, road, but I will save these stories for another time.
I run my own small consulting company, and am also involved as an owner in another business venture. Being independent gives me great opportunities professionally as well as flexibility to spend time and focus on, the people and things which are truly important. Among those high on this list are my only child, a daughter who consistently proves herself wise beyond her years and excels at everything she commits to; a rambunctious and very, very, lovable, dog who acts every bit the sixteen month old puppy she is today, frequent exercise, good food, wine and music. I love traveling, especially to Mexico and The Caribbean. What I would really like is to be in a relationship again with someone special; someone to place on the top of the list of what matters in life….
Computers, photography, writing and reading are interests both personally and professionally. I am a great believer that loving what you do as “work,” being passionate about your job, is a great blessing and one secret to happiness in this world.
I want to find someone to share life with again. I suppose this goes a long way towards explaining why I am “here.” Getting to know someone and just seeing where it leads, or even better, discovering someone to share much more than a spring time afternoon, is what I am hoping for.
If trips to places filled with sun, gentle breezes, where the “don’t worry (about anything), be happy” mindset is “mandatory,” I hope you get in touch. If getting to know each other better while sharing some special place around town some spring day soon is the kind of trip you are looking for at the moment, this is a start. Either way, the next step is to get in touch.
First Date
Finding a nice place around town to sit and have a glass of wine, or cup of coffee, and talking is a great way to spend a first date. I enjoy venues where you can sit outside, or at least feel the breeze through the windows. If you have a favorite restaurant or bar, I am open to you setting the stage. Alternatively, if you want me to handle the details, I am more than happy to do so. Being somewhere comfortable is key; getting to know one another and seeing what chemistry may exist is what a first date should focus on.
