SlingDad is a play on words from the movie Sling Blade. When I was newly single 5 years ago, my screen name was SglDad, which I found to be totally unoriginal. One night a friend of mine typed SlgDad by accident and I asked "Mmmhmmm, you got any biscuits in there?" (A line from the movie)

I'm a full time single Dad of very cool 9 year old boy/girl twins, divorced since 04 & making it work.

I enjoy meeting new people 1 on 1 or in a crowd, I'm a very comfortable person to be around yet by the same token not lonely when alone.

"Dating" is selected in my preferences because there's not a slot for "Friends-with-the-potential-of-dating-and-down-the-road-if-all-goes-well-a-long-term-relationship"

I was with my ex for 15 years and enjoyed being married. I don't harbor any animosity towards her or anyone, for that matter. That doesn't mean I'm necessarily looking to get married again anytime soon, but I'm not a serial dater either.

It's easy to find humor in almost any situation, even if it's a bit irreverent, dark, or goofy. I'm serious when the time is necessary.

I'm a good guy, not a nice guy. The difference? Don't mistake kindness for weakness.

This is where everyone writes about how hard first dates are. They don't have to be. A public place like a park or casual meet for lunch makes the most sense for both parties. I'm not needy nor clingy, if something develops, great, if not, no harm done, ya know?
