I'm no longer visiting POF. I'm looking to meet an actual person, and will therefore be at the beach, kayaking, sailing, taking pictures, and going out. First and foremost, I was raised in the South (yes, it's capitalized :D ) so I have excellent manners, open doors for women, and even chew with my mouth closed! I was born in Miami, but raised in both Louisiana (Geaux Tigers!) and the Keys. I put "occasionally" under "smokes" because I sometimes smoke at work, but never at home... If it's a deal breaker, I can just quit, it's not more important than finding that special person!

I love outdoor activities: going to the beach, camping, kayaking, etc... Most weekends I find something to do, even if it's by myself. Going out for live music is fun, but not alone, so I generally find my own entertainment outdoors.

I love to laugh, and can always find the humor in even the worst situations. I'm eternally optimistic, non-judgemental, and hate drama! My sense of humor can be very dry and deadpan, other times a little sarcastic (hopefully in a witty way!) I'm pretty shy at first with most people, but I really open up once I know somebody. I recently found out that my first impression on others is one of arrogance, because initially I'm usually quiet but still pretty confident. I'm anything but arrogant! (Hopefully!) I love animals of all kinds and used to volunteer at the Humane Society (no, it wasn't community service hours!), and so far, get along great with kids. I'm also affectionate, and see nothing wrong with holding hands in public. I grew up going to all of the LSU home football games, tailgating in the Winnebago, so I love SEC football! I can't budge on this one, sorry!

I just got out of the Army in April of 2008, and moved to SW Florida to be near my family in Naples. I've sinced moved to Eau Gallie for work, so I'm new to the area! Prior to the Army, I was a mechanical engineer and involved in resort renovations. I've traveled quite a bit, and lived in several states. Exploring new places is always fun, some of my favorites are northern Michigan and coastal Maine (both in the summertime!). My absolute favorite place thus far is Jamaica, specifically Negril. I listen to a variety of music, but if the radio is on, it's usually on a country station. I don't really watch television, but a movie on the couch is sometimes a good thing. :)

I'm an experienced sailor, having sold my third and last sailboat prior to going into the Army. Like my headline says, I'm solar powered, and if I can be on the water too, all the better!

Who am I looking for? That someone who will be my best friend and partner in life. A woman with integrity and who understands that a relationship is a commitment to stand by their partner through the good times and the rough times. Qualities I'm looking for are intelligence, a sense of humor, a willingness to try new things, someone who can be a little bit outdoorsy, preferably likes animals, and most of all, someone who is honest. I'm not perfect, and don't expect perfection from others, but I do require honesty.

Something active like going kayaking, rollerblading (if you're into that) or a museum would be a lot of fun and a relaxed way to become acquainted. First dates are hard enough, might as well do something fun to take the pressure off!
