Hi.

I like to laugh, usually at a lot of the things that happen around me. It keeps me somewhat sane, y'know? I have, I suppose, a lot of artsy-fartsy sorts of hobbies, including writing, painting, and drawing. I like to follow Canadian politics, and generally dedicate Tuesday nights in front of the tube to watch CBC: heck, I even have tickets to see Rick Mercer in 2010! I play cards, too, and am always keen on learning new card games. Geek love includes computers, open-source 'stuff' and accessible technologies.

I have a keen interest in photography, and have been known to go for day jaunt drives to take pictures, wander around the woods for "that" shot. I need to break down and buy the SLR camera so I can take really AMAZING photos.

I'd like to get back into cross-country skiing, and cycling on a recumbent bike (I've heard they're better for your knees). I used to X-country ski a fair bit in my teens/early 20s, and I miss it horribly. I've been swimming lengths once a week for a couple of months now - hoping to get more lengths in than time permits!

I have a couple of goals, one of which is to get a job in the field that I just finished my Masters in. Don't worry - I'm presently employed. The other goal would be to get out of renting and buy some property - I'm really tired of the renting thing. Kind of gets.. oh.. old after a while. If'n you know what I mean.

My friends would probably describe me as first, blunt, then funny, then a geek. I'm always interested in expanding my horizons, so to speak. I love to read, to take classes - I'm looking at pottery or glassblowing either for January or May (debating whether I want to drive to class in the winter - I just finished doing that with the Masters, so am not so keen for this atm). I like to think of myself as enthusiastic and polite.

My musical tastes are, well, eclectic. They range from Simon & Garfunkel to Ella Fitzgerald to NIN to classical. I listen to CBC Radio from time to time, and my car's pre-programmed stations include CHUM FM, 99.9, CBC, Jazz FM, and a station out of Guelph.
