I am a southern gentleman seeking a friend,lover,companion.I am rather old fashioned and still believe a lady should be treated with respect and dignity.Opening doors,holding a chair,rising when a lady enters a room or approaches a table shouldn't be a surprise it is one of the basics a southern father teaches his son and must confess this is a selfish pleasure for it seldom fails to produce a smile.This doesn't mean I don't care for a strong and independent woman it just means that she will have to tolerate being treated as a lady.Having said that I do expect the lady I seek to be mature(not necessarily in age,however the closer our ages are the greater chance we will have more in common),classy and able to enjoy an evening gown as well as cut-offs.I enjoy most music,but do best with classical and I would hope my intended can tolerate a night at the symphony,opera or jazz bar.I am not a good dancer(one of my New Year resolutions),however,what Texan doesn't enjoy polishing his buckle with an attractive lady.I add this just to warn a future dance partner that this might be perilous.I drink socially,but seldom to excess and never drink and drive and I might on occasion take a good cigar with my brandy,though I don't smoke cigarettes and again don't smoke as a rule,though others smoking does not bother me.
Let me close by saying that I look forward and dread a new romance, a thoughtless word or callous remark can destroy an evening or a budding friendship,but oh the challenge and mysteries to explore I find it impossible to stay away even when it might be prudent.

Were it completely up to me,a rendezvous at a quiet restaurant,soft music in the background,candlelight.A light dinner,glass of wine followed by a shameful dessert to be shared,sparkling conversation and much laughter.Perhaps a dance or two in the piano bar,followed by a walk on the beach or board walk to see what magic the moon might create in her eyes.
