About Me
I am not looking for anyone, I am more here for the forums than anything. I've decided to take an early retirement from the dating/relationship deal.
Why you ask?
I'll explain it in racing terms, it seems to make the story a bit more enjoyable.
We'll start with the driver introduction. The driver's name is Rob. Early in Rob's career, he got on with this racing team. Rob did everything he could do to make this racing team work. He worked really hard while the racing team just kind of relaxed and did as they pleased. He never asked for the racing team to do anything more than be happy in what they do. Well, one day, Rob was in a race, he came into pit, and realized that his racing team was working on another car, even though Rob was trying to do everything he could to make the team happy. Rob was young, he left the racing team and left them with the car and everything, he just wanted away from the backstabbing racing team.
Rob then picked up with a few other racing teams, and had a couple of DNF's (Did Not Finish) and a couple of FTQ's (Failed to Qualify). It didn't bother him, he was racing, thats all he really wanted out of life was to be happy racing.
Rob then picked up with this racing team that he was really happy with. The team showed potential, granted there were a couple of extra members on this team, but he loved them just like they belonged there. Rob qualified really well with this team. Daytona came (The superbowl of races), Rob worked really hard to make Daytona good, and he actually won Daytona (we got married). Well as the racing season progresed, the team ran into trouble. The racing team was becoming highly abusive towards the driver. Rob, the driver was trying everything he could to maintain the team. The team got abusive, first emotionally, then verbally and finally physically. Rob drove as hard as he could, but it was meaningless, the losing record wasn't going away, and the abuse was continuing. Rob finally stepped forward and initiated the process of leaving this team, things just weren't working. He did however have the trophy from Daytona (daughter, kind of bad to refer to her as a trophy). The trophy brought him a long way.
The next couple of years were hard for Rob. Even getting to the race was a problem, he didn't feel like racing. He basically lost his will to race. He was just happy with his trophy from Daytona. He was happy just to be alive basically, happy by himself and settled that he probably would never race again. A couple DNF's and a few FTQ's, no big deal, no love lost.
Then one day, when Rob was sitting there. A team approached him. This was a different kind of team, a younger team. Rob was skeptical at first, younger teams scared him. Not much experience on the track, and without a lot of history, these teams seem to be a dime a dozen and flutter and disapear rather quickly. But, Rob decided to run with it anway. It was midway through the season. The next couple of races looked AWESOME. This team treated him with respect, and love, and made him feel like he was the ULTIMATE driver. The team didn't bring happiness to racing, but it just made him happier to race, knowing that he had a team behind him that cared. During the end of the season, Rob made a big commitment to this team. He proposed an agreement that this team race with him only, and he will only race with this team.
The team agreed to it, and both the team and him were extremely happy. The team did nothing but talk about the future. The team told Rob numerous times that it didn't matter what the car looked like, that they loved him for driving and who he was. Rob felt utter happiness, his soul had been touched and he was completely satisfied with where he was at. He never even really was interested in going to another racing team.
The next season started, Daytona, the superbowl wasn't scheduled yet, but Rob and the team had dabbled and talked about it numerous times. Rob was just satisfied to be with the team, he wasn't really in need of settling on a date for Daytona. He was just happy to be with such a caring team.
Then one day. Things started to change. The attitude towards from the team towards Rob had changed. The team just wanted to be friends with Rob and didn't want to race with him anymore. The team didn't explain what doubt they had in Rob, and that bothered Rob. The team stopped communicating with Rob, but still wanted to be friends, Rob was leary of trying this, knowing the emotions that were still there with the team. Rob tried, but he just couldn't stop talking about how well they raced together, and what a joy it was to race with them, and how much he missed the team. The team didn't like that. Rob became depressed he said some things to the team he wish he hadn't. The team wanted space, and wanted time to find themselves prior to commiting to one driver, Rob didn't understand that, they seemed so happy with him, they seemed happy racing with him.
Well. Some time went by. The team hadn't talked to Rob seriously in a while, and Rob was trying to talk to them, to no avail the team wouldn't respond. This threw Rob into a deeper depression. Then one day, Rob found out through some mutual friends that the team was pitting with another driver. This enraged Rob, and he took back his car. He was completely upset and felt used by the racing team. It brought on questions about whether the team ever really felt as strongly as he thought. Did the team lie to him the entire time? Why couldn't of the team just been honest and say they needed to find another driver? Why didn't they just say no to the proposal Rob had given the team?
Rob was lost. He went out and tried to practice again, but racing has just lost it's appeal. Rob was practicing for a race one day, came around turn 4, and blew a right front tire, he hit the wall doing about 185 MPH. His car is totalled, he just doesn't have the desire to pick up and rebuild the car. He wishes his team was still here to help him find that desire again. He also doesn't believe that he will ever be as happy as he was with the last team. He loved that team to death, and would of sacrificed anything to make the team and him work.
Rob's given up on racing. Just no desire to go to the track anymore.
