About Me
I moved to the Ottawa/Gatineau Region three years ago with my dogs when I took a teaching position in Hull. My brother, who has been in this region for a while was thrilled, because he finally had a personal chef, at least twice a week when he comes over for dinner! My students; and their parents, take up a good amount of my time...the life of a special needs teacher, but I’m very good at putting them on the back burner to enjoy a fun day or a romantic evening.
I love spending time outdoors, either with the dogs, or just with friends skiing/monoskiing, dinner, game nights volleyball or just out having a great time. One of my favourite activities is to just sit on a bench outdoors just talking with a friend and enjoying some quality people watching...I find taking the time to watch the world around you really helps center a person.
I’m a big believer in generosity and volunteering and enjoy giving back to others and showing appreciation, but at the same time I’m not afraid to stand up for what I believe in and I don’t easily get embarrassed or intimidated.
I have three favourite quotes that I try to remember everyday of my life.
The first I saw on the wall of Westminster Abbey: Whosoever will be chief amongst you, let him be your servant.
The second I heard one day on CFRA: The day will come when all you have left to stand on, is what you stood for.
And the third is from poet Odger Nash: You are only young once, but you can stay immature indefinitely!
Volleyball is where it’s at. I play weekly with the GOV (Gay Ottawa Volleyball) and I coach my schools grade 7 & 8 girls school team. Outside from volleyball I’m a huge skier in the winter and I cycle regularly in the summer. I just bought a canoe and I hope to be able to say that I’m an avid canoe’r, but it’s been a while since I’ve paddled down river…I think I’ll be fine, but I’m looking for someone to help me navigate the waters.

First Date
I love to laugh and tell great stories...sometimes I think that's the only reason my friends keep me around. An ideal first date would be something where a good conversation can take place and we can laugh until our sides hurt!
