Single, Never married, No kids, Good job

Recently I've been offered a couple of opportunities in my local area that I'm seriously considering. I have a few other lifestyle changes I want to make in my life and just recently had my eyes opened to this by someone I trust and is important to me. What you read below is the truth as best I can give it and I hope you understand that while I'm on this site, I feel that now is a good time for me to concentrate on what I truly want out of life. I am interested in meeting people who share some common interests with me. If you see me out and about, don't hesitate to say, "hello". We get one shot at this life...one...I don't want to be just content with my life; I want to thrive and live mine to the fullest.

I consider myself a self-motivated individual. I'm a people person, and I'm like to meet people who have a lot of energy and self-motivation. More importantly I’m like people who are self-sufficient and have a realistic outlook on life. I love being around people that I can trade ideas with and learn from while offering the same. This is an amazing feeling for me.

What I do to better myself:

In March of ’06, a friend introduced me to swing dancing and I’ve loved it ever since. It’s fun and it’s easy and I meet a lot of good people doing it. I keep it simple and enjoy getting people out on the floor for the first time. I do my best to be encouraging and sincere because I want them to enjoy it as much as I do.

I love a good story. When I read or watch a movie, I never guess the end. It may be obvious, but I want the whole story. I'm going through and reading the classics along with books suggested to me by friends and family. I love a good story and I appreciate books that make me think. I don’t think reading any particular book will make a person smart, but there are so many good ideas out there. I love the classics and do my best to appreciate the times in which they were written. I like the idea of sharing what I've read with others and like to hear other people's opinions.

For a while I was teaching myself to bake as nothing more than latest hobby, but I don't get to do it as often as I'd like. Sometimes it's just nice to make something simple when I have company. Right now I just do it when I have an afternoon free and someone to share the goods with.

I'm a strong believer in learning and chances are you will find me looking into to something either by reading about it or trying it out for myself.

I love going to games that my friends are in and watching a live game, but ESPN isn’t for me. I like lifting weights and exercising. Between that and dieting I’ve managed to lose weight and keep it off. This is something I've always enjoyed and I’d love to encourage others to do it if that's what they want.


Relating to others:

I have always strived to be supportive in all my friendships and relationships while respecting the fact that the person I care for was doing just fine before they let me into their life.

I believe independence is important and encourage people to go after what they want. In the end that's usually what they go for, so no point in denying it.

I view my past relationships as the "good" always outweighing the "bad".

Ambitions:

Do I have as much money as I want…NOPE!!!

I work for government as an engineer in environmental protection and love the heck out of my job. My career is a focus right now, because I feel strongly that I'm in a position to grow. While money is a major incentive, I really want to blaze a path that few could follow. Right now I'm striving to find what I'm truly passionate about, so I can truly go after it. My “dream” job or career would be my own business and not a job at all. There's always something I’m plinking away at, but only time will tell. For now, I work for someone else and as long as that is the case I plan on making the most of it.

I think continuing my education is important and while I already have a degree I know that I would like to add onto that. I’m currently and will continue to pursue education in my field, but I also feel that it is important to be diverse. While I’m working on one pursuit I’m planning for the next.

I see so many opportunities and feel foolish if I don't go after them. For me this is a very exciting time in my life.

Down the Road:

I look forward to a time when I can settle down with someone special and share my life. I know I have a lot to offer and my goal is to only get better with time. I’m not in a rush and want to take my time. I think everyone owes themselves that. It is my hope to find someone special who will understand that stability is important to me, but this doesn't mean I want to be with someone who is devoid of passion. This doesn’t mean living a boring life. It means being in a position in life to do the things you want to do and knowing that there is little to nothing to worry about.

Something fun, something simple, but something clever...

While I've only been doing it for a little over a year I'd definitely love to go swing dancing. If you've never done it, then learning it will be a tons of fun.

If not that; then there's plenty of little things going on throughout the area that aren't the typical "dinner and a movie". I can usually come up with good ideas, but I'm always open to suggestions.

The main thing is that I'd like to do something that would give us an opportunity to get to know one another a little better
