About Me
Just here for the forums, and my friends now. Internet dating, at least for me, has proven less productive than real life has. I've never had a bad date, and quite a few good ones. That said, it's now time to focus my energy and time on those areas that give the best return, and greatest chance of success.

Good luck to all of you in your journey, and may you all of you find true happiness and love aomewhere along the way.

Isn't attraction incredible? Imagine relaxing into strong arms holding you, feeling safe and appreciated and intimate, knowing it is totally right.

I am looking for that too. I am emotionally literate, and willing to take risks. I don't know if the woman I am searching for is here, but it is worth the time to find out. The internet has not proved to be very effective as compared to real life, but perhaps this is how we are destined to meet.

What i need is a woman who is intelligent, affectionate, and honest. Having a great sense of humour is equally important to me. Make me laugh, and I will follow you anywhere. If you believe that the man in your life should also be your best friend, then you feel the same way about relationships that I do.

I feel that life and love are a bit like writing songs, in some regards.

All you ever have to do is let go, and write from your heart, without filtering it in any way. That's one of the hardest things to ever pull off, because sometimes you have to stand face to face with your scariest demons, and your most beautiful angels.

You have nothing to fear from any of them, and much to learn from all of them, because they are all simply products of your own mind, and you give them all their power.

So let them dance freely together, and write the music that they dance together to.

Height proportional to weight, please. Montrealer's only, since I have done that long distance thing before.

How do I describe myself ? A bit of a bohemian, an artist at heart, and a typical Gemini by nature. Expect to be kept on your toes, and I expect to be kept on mine. I like to write, and to compose music. I have a creative side that I stifled for far too long, and that was a lesson learned.

I've always wanted to be one of those couples you see sitting on a bench at an advanced age - still holding hands, and still in love.

I strongly believe that a couple must have that bond of friendship before anything else can be built - so grab a brick and some mortar and come on over and join me. Let's build our life together.

Castles in the air just need to have foundations solidly built under them.

To close, I discovered this proverb on a young woman's blog from Iraq. I think it is simply beautiful, and beautifully simple:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so that when you die, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying."

- Raghda Zaid ( aka Baghdad Girl)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Oh, I've got something inside me,
To drive a princess blind.
There's a wild man, wizard,
He's hiding in me, illuminating my mind.
Oh, I've got something inside me,
Not what my life's about,
Cause I've been letting my outside tide me,
Over 'till my time, runs out."

Harry Chapin - Taxi

I never felt magic crazy as this
I never saw moons knew the meaning of the sea
I never held emotion in the palm of my hand
Or felt sweet breezes in the top of a tree
But now you're here
Brighten my northern sky.

I've been a long time that I'm waiting
Been a long that I'm blown
I've been a long time that I've wandered
Through the people I have known
Oh, if you would and you could
Straighten my new mind's eye.

Would you love me for my money
Would you love me for my head
Would you love me through the winter
Would you love me 'til I'm dead
Oh, if you would and you could
Come blow your horn on high.

I never felt magic crazy as this
I never saw moons knew the meaning of the sea
I never held emotion in the palm of my hand
Or felt sweet breezes in the top of a tree
But now you're here
Brighten my northern sky.

"Northern Sky"

Meet me at the rink, when the night is dark, and the snow is falling softly upon your hair.

(You might have to be a fan of the movie "Serendipity" to get that reference, btw)

First Date
Perhaps a nice quiet supper together, then a quiet relaxed walk on a nice Montreal summer night. It's truly been a long hard lonely winter.Let's talk about who we are, and find out how well we communicate. Let's go get lost, and perhaps find ourselves.

And then to end it all, a coffee or hot chocolate in some warm cozy place (with a fireplace?) , and the chance to perhaps do it all over again soon, if we both so choose. If it goes well, a nice long hug would be great...but not mandatory.

Of course, I am open to any and all suggestions.

Montreal Guy. (*Huge sigh inserted here*) MG is my hero, the sort of man every woman should know at least once in her life. Most people I have known merely put words together to make a sentence, while MG puts them together to make magic happen. Should the laws ever change, and the opportunity come to pass, I'd like to clone this dear man, just so he can remain in the placce he loves, while I can keep another close to me. Hey, Gary? I'm still looking for that street honey. ~River~

Montreal Guy was one of my first friends on here. I was attracted to the wisdom of his words, his brilliant cutting edge humor and his all around class. I've learned from him and been warmed by his friendship. He truly is one who has it all together. I wish for him as for all my dear friends the greatest love of all, and trust that any woman who finds herself involved with Montreal to be thankful and appreciate the gem that she's found.

A dear friend who might have become so much more if geography wasn't a factor...I know he doesn't wish to accept dates through POF so all I have to say is ladies, you really missed out on this one! He is thoughtful, intelligent, gentle and genuine. He has many interests and talents, and couldn't bore you if he tried. Truly a gem of a man. And not too hard on the eyes either....I'm sure he will find what he is looking for one day, and though part of me will miss what might have been, the friend in me will rejoice that he is happy and well loved.
