This is hard because no matter what I say it sounds either conceited or falsely modest. I'm not really special but honest and caring. I'm retired and live alone with my two dogs on a couple of acres that I'm landscaping. I also hate starting every sentence with "I". I'd rather hear about you, whoever you are. Hopefully we can provide something to each other that will make us both happier.

The first "date" can't really be classified as a date because it's for meeting and getting to know a little bit about each other. There is so much that can't be said with words on a computer but can be revealed with a look or a smile or gesture. So the first meeting would be for coffee or lunch (save dinner for #2 or #3) to see if the person really looks like their photo, what do they sound like -- accent, dialect, etc., is there any instant chemistry (not always necessary). You can't find out much about a person in a few minutes so the first meeting should last a couple of hours.
