About Me
Not looking for anything more than to meet some cool, new people and bask in the electric charge you get making a connection with other, upright monkeys. However, I remain ammenable to a future in advanced simian couplehood. For the immediate moment, just somebody new to check-out live shows with, invade an art gallery or two with, maybe catch an interesting flick, scour the town for cheap drink and adventure in our chucks and vintage jackets, wax philosophy over brunch (i love brunch), and wander far and wide, would be grand. Ongoing, running commentary, convo and comedy will likely be provided, so somebody who can hold their own and has a robust sense of humour will be necessary. I do have a personal policy of following all things to their logical (or illogical) conclusion, so if something more should develop, then so be it---i am not averse to petty (or violent---i have a certain... moral flexibility) crime, so long as it's in the name of the children.
Oh yes. About me. Well-travelled/will travel/love travel (ask about a summer in Iceland, living in China or surfing in Argentina sometime). Artsy-indie-liberal for the most part---my vocation (architecture), my music preferences (who would pay to see radiohead 8 times or the arcade fire 4 times at ticketmaster prices?), and my background (son of visible minority immigrants) rather shamelessly tells that story. But it's always a little more complicated than the obvious stereotypes, n'est-ce pas? Yes, i speak french. I love my friends and my family, and they love me---but i keep running away from them. It's my style; i'm always in search of... something. I think i'm playing a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure boardgame on a global scale. I go big. But i'm a sucker for the intimate, unseen moments. I write. Too much (obviously). And usually alot better than this miserable description field suggests.
*A recent note: I am currently in the throes of a romance with my new, recycled, re-engineered, single-speed, road bicycle. She's teal-coloured, accented with sensible greys, and highlighted in unexpected places with rainbow insignias. She gets me places and opens up the city experience to me in a beautifully unique way. She's also a great ride. But she doesn't read good books---or read at all for that matter. She can't get into shows, and her opinion on modern art is mute.
** An even more recent note (May 2009): I will be returning to Toronto after a prolonged exile in the wilderness. The wilderness being Vancouver for three years, and more immediately, about 6 months traipsing around Southeast Asia and China (again). It should be a trip, and I should probably get myself reacquainted with proper Torontonians. That said, as much as some things change, other things always stay the same...
About you?... You edit me in all the right places? You're cool? Have your own life? You dig outer space? You do quirky things? You definitely have New Order's 'Age Of Consent' in your Top 5 All-time songs?
