About Me
I used to describe myself as shy but have found that that really isn't true anymore. As I get older, I become more outgoing and adventurous. I say what's on my mind and my sense of humor verges on inappropriate, so I have been told. I graduated from WMU in 2006. I work with first-time parents and their children. I am looking forward to starting grad school in January.
I try to speak Spanish sometimes(it was my minor). I have traveled to Spain, Mexico and Costa Rica and it is a life goal to visit every South American country (and to go to a Ben Harper concert).
I like to listen to live music, travel, read, paint, bake, go out dancing or just stay in. I love to go for walks around my neighborhood (Eastown). Going to local concerts, art shows, festivals, museums, etc is important to me. I really enjoy seeing what my community has to offer in terms of the arts and I really hope that the person I am dating can share that with me. I love to make people laugh. Laughter is key to a healthy life. Physical comedy gets me everytime. I can be quite sarcastic too. Whoever says sarcasm isn't healthy is probably right, but, I couldn't live without it. Bad grammar and an inability to type complete sentences are pet peeves. However, my spelling is terrible...
I collect fortunes (from cookies). I have been collecting them since elementary school. I am a fan of snail mail. I am a big believer in thank you notes. I try to give what and when I can. I love to surprise people. I want to be surrounded by eclectic art and see new places. I am passionate about surrounding myself with genuine, caring, smart, funny and eccentric people.
One might find me in the music section at Schuler's, downtown GR, reading in my favorite chair at home, walking around Eastown, or at Real Food Cafe for breakfast.
I am very interested in guys who have interests of their own, that go beyond partying and watching TV. I also have an interest in those who ARE wearing a shirt in their profile picture! To me, the ideal man is kind and always willing to help someone out. He cares for others. I also value empathy, humor, honesty, nerdiness (if that is a word and if it is spelled correctly)and silliness in a man. I like it when men ask questions and they are an equal partner in conversation. They listen. They value their family. The ideal man likes to spend time at home and out and about. He has friends that make him laugh and think. He makes me laugh and think. He wants a family. He is intelligent and motivated.
I would love to get to know someone who would like to go volunteer with me or take a dance class, or do something new around town.
If the most original thing you can come up with is "Hi," please move on. If this request has led you to say some unkind words about me in your head then it probably hit close to home.
