I've been scared to put this on my profile , because I wasn't sure the reaction I'd get. I'm biting the bullet and adding it anyway. You'll either read this and hit the back button as fast as possible or you'll continue reading.
I'm an agoraphobic and have been for the past 5 years. I developed it after being really sick for several years and bed-ridden.Progress is slow going but each day I feel as I accomplish a little more. I know some will view me as a freak(I understand , somedays I view myself as a freak. But I know that I'm blessed and that I will overcome this.) I'm on here to find someone that can be a friend (and maybe something more),I don't want people to feel sorry for me either,like me for who I am on the inside not what I look like.
ABOUT ME:
I'm Shy:
I remember the first dance I attended at the new school I was going to. I was in the ninth grade at the time and I didn't know anyone and to top it off , i was a square peg surround by round pegs. They all had rich families and well my parents and grandparents worked hard to send me to the school. As soon as the dance began , I found a nice quiet spot in the back and took a seat , enjoying myself watching others dance and just listening to the music. A couple of hours pass and all the girls from my class approached me and asked me to dance with them. That moment opened my eyes and me me realize that I need to start being more open. I'm slowly getting better , but any progress is better than none.
I find humor in almost everything
An old man is walking down the road(his daily exercise). I'm looking out the window and I notice he has a piece of newspaper stuck to the bottom of his shoe. Everytime he walks the paper will scratch against the ground , and old man would turn around thinking someone was behind him. Now some people wouldn't laugh at that , but I couldn't help myself. I kept imagining him looking back every few seconds cursing under his breath wondering wtf? was going on. of course after having my little laugh I open the window and inform the man of the paper stuck to his shoe , but still it's small things like that which make me laugh.
I Love Animals
Dogs especially. I melt whenever they give me those sweet innocent puppy faces. I have a five year old Chocolate Labrador Retriever named Hershey. He's a really smart , spoiled dog but he's my best friend. If I had my way I'd be the proud owner of every stray dog . I can't tolerate animal cruelty either.
I'm a geek and proud of it
I love reading,computers,some anime,movies, basically anything techy. If I'm not working or playing with my dog , I'm either reading a book , messing around on the computer , or playing the PS2. I like outdoor things as well like fishing and such(Can't stay indoors all the time). Dean Koontz and Stephen king are two of my favorite authors. I love fighting and sport games in general. There's nothing like sitting back with a friend and enjoying a good game of football or kicking each other's butt in a fighting game.
Music is My Muse
Simply put , I love Music!. my mood reflects what I listen to. When I'm sad I'll listen to some country , when I'm angry I'll listen to metal and rock. Any time else I just hit random on my playlist and let it rock. The poetry and art I make are also inspired by the music I listen to. I like to sing along with the music and I love to slow dance. Not really good at other types of dances , though I did try the macarana once. It's so calming to sit back in a dark room with nothing but the music playing. A great way to soothe the nerves.
My faults
I'm scared of heights. After falling off the back of a moving firetruck when I was in Kindergarten , I've never been a friend of heights. Needles freak me out as well , still dunno why they just do. I don't like thinderstorms . When it's raining , I'm ok but when Tornadoes and lighting starts I get jittery and start checking the weather channel. I've been in several tornadoes in my life and none were pleasing times. I hate to speak in front of people and at times I can ramble and I also tend to let people run over me more than I should.
What Am I Looking For ?:
I'm a nice guy.I'm against abuse and cursing to females. If you are looking for the bad boy type then look elsewhere. That being said,I know how to have fun ,whether it's dancing , playing sports or etc.I'm looking for the fairytale romance. I want to find someone that can take my breath away with just one word. I want to love a woman without having to worry she'll think I'm too nice. My perfect mate would be humorous , sincere , intelligent , willing to give her heart and soul to one man and in return she'll have his. The ability to carry a conversation is a plus as I tend to have problems getting a conversation started. Another plus would be having interests in the same things. such as fishing , writing , computers , music and etc.
Looks aren't important to me , it's all about inner beauty and personality.
First Date
We'd make a day of fishing and a picnic with maybe a dvd or movie in the afternoon. At night we'd have a candlelight dinner and then a nice relaxing talk under the moonlight. If the mood is right I turn up the music and serenade you before the date ends
