I'm looking for someone to share life experiences with. I think companionship and shared interests are key. I am an even tempered, open-minded, masculine (but not macho) guy with a variety of interests, and I'm looking for someone similar. Whoever it is should also enjoy monogamy.

I would eventually like to spend most of my time in cottage country, and would probably keep a condo in the city for forays into town. I see waterfront as "Home" and the condo as "Cottage".

I enjoy a wide variety of diversions that city life has to offer; I also love the great outdoors. I love to go canoe-camping, cross-country skiing, etc. etc., so it would be great if the guy liked the outdoors as much as I do. I love the woods, mountains, rivers, and lakes. I grew up on a white sandy beach, and I love to snuggle up by a fireplace or a roaring campfire. I'd rather go skinny dip in a lake than go swimming in a public pool.

I enjoy dinner/lunch/brunch dates. They provide just enough time to talk and get to know each other. I'd rather chat over a meal than go to a bar. Regardless of how the date turns out, we all have to eat, and choosing a place and a menu tells you a lot about somebody. I like all kinds of cuisine.
Some of my best dates have been on a beach. Several past relationships really started at the beach. There's something about the intimacy of conversation, looking deep into each other's eyes in the bright honesty of sunlight that helps to spark a connection. I suppose being half-naked and needing somebody to help put the sunscreen on doesn't hurt either....
So maybe it should be a picnic at the beach!
