Hi!

Life is good, and I am open to sharing it with an interesting lady that enjoys life and is happy. Hey, I spent 18 years in the army, played with explosives, and I fly planes; meeting someone from the Internet is nothing. :) I am a relaxed, casual person and I like a drama free life; amusement parks provide enough adventure! I value honesty, intelligence, commitment, and a sense of humor. Hope to hear from you soon!

I just got back (August 2008) from a short trip to an amusement park. It was fun, once they got the main roller coaster working again anyway, but next time it will be Worlds of Fun. I will also take my daughter and her best friend to the local park; prayers are gladly accepted!

Newer update: I flew (as the pilot, not a passenger) into Oshkosh for Airventure 2009. It was a great show, and it definitely is the busiest airport in the world that week! I'd love to go back; there was a lot that I did not see. It also reminded me how much I miss flying. It's a good thing I left my checkbook at home; I really wanted a ride in the Mustang!

Things about me:

I sing with the radio, mostly to tease my daughter. :) If it's "I Can't Drive 55", "Mony Mony" or "I'm Still A Guy" I'll sing even if she isn't there. I listen to most music, which by definition excludes rap. I spent too long living in army barracks to ever willingly listen to rap.

I love word play and trivia. I prefer to read, play Sudoko, or play board or card games to watching most TV shows. I like movies, as well as visiting a museum or a book store; however, I'd much rather go to an amusement park or go flying.

I like education and learning.

I'm not interested in camping; see the bit about 18 years in the army. My favorite campsite is a Ramada Inn. I like parks and hiking, but I'll take a comfortable bed and a shower at the end of the day.

I've been known to take dares. I've rappelled down cliff faces and from helicopters. I've willingly parachuted from an airplane that was not on fire. I've operated everything from motorcycles to semi trucks, tanks, and airplanes; my favorite is a sport bike. I've finally admitted to myself that I'm no longer indestructible, so I have slowed down a bit. Still riding coasters and flying, however! Next up is helicopter training.

I call ultimatums.

I enjoy firearms and shooting. If you are a hoplophobe you will not enjoy my company. Trust me on this. It's been a long time since I've done any shooting, but I am getting back into it. It's a lot harder now with the older eyes...

I like humor and laughing, and prefer comedies to dramas; I like to unwind when I am away from work. I have a dry, sometimes sarcastic sense of humor. I once gave a cat a time-out, just to spoof social workers. My ex was biting her tongue trying to keep a straight face; she did not think I had been listening to her preaching.

Few people hang around me for my cooking. When I cook, I often grill steaks, even in the winter; might as well mix danger with dinner. I will make a roast or bake fish or chicken if I am feeling domesticated, so not very often! Reservations are also good.

I am not pretentious; what you see is what you get. Keeping in this vein, I avoid drama queens and high maintenance ladies. I help others and stand by my lady, but I won't sign on for a lifetime of (often self-induced) crisis intervention; been there, done that, threw the t-shirt away. I value honesty, integrity, trustworthiness and sanity. I am also an incurable romantic. I consider romance to be playtime for adults. I enjoy finding someone that is on the same wavelength and that knows how to reciprocate.

I consider myself to be closer to the Libertarians than other political parties. I consider the Republicans and Democrats to be opposite sides of the same corrupt coin. Anyone that doubts that need only look at the Theater of the Absurd that has been US politics for the last 150 years or so. Ron Paul 2012!

I've been reading a lot more lately, mostly self-sufficiency books, history and business books, and magazines like Back Home; it makes a nice change of pace from work. I don't own a farm or have plans to move to Idaho (yet!), but I did start some tomato plants from seeds this past summer; it's a good thing I wasn't depending on them! I prefer heirlooms to the tomatoes that you can buy in a store. I have a pantry, even though it is not well stocked yet.

I guess this where I'm supposed to list the romantic things I like... I like the Hallmark moments, but consider the person I am with to be more interesting than the actual event. Although, I do like watching meteor showers and going for walks at night in the snow, and I do them with or without company. I enjoy flying, and like the ability to slip away; it makes Mount Rushmore a weekend trip. I like ballroom dancing. Once I danced in a local competition; not because of delusions of grandeur (or competence!) but to support the school.

My daughter lives with me half of the time, and is in my house every day before and after school. Hence, I am not able to relocate. I specified "Does not want children" because there is not an option to say that I am open to kids but do not see myself fathering another child. I have no qualms about dating women with children. I have a drink once or twice a year, for no particular reason. I really dislike smoke, so I avoid bars.

Yes, the joke is a filter. I am most attracted to an intelligent, practical lady. If you understand the phrase "Ni hao ma?", so much the better!
