Great companion. Mellow, gentle and good with children. 364 dog years in age but still playful and a pup at heart. Happy on-the-go or curled up on someone's lap at home. Healthy with bright eyes, nice teeth and shiny albeit thinning coat. Free of fleas, worms, rabies and other diseases. House broken. Bathes regularly, smells good and never rolls in funky, aromatic substances. Very tolerant of people from all walks of life as well as other pets and creatures. Enjoys urban, rural or wilderness walks, anything in or around water and long drives with head out the window and tongue flapping in the wind. Keeps head in car if asked, during inclement weather or if actually doing the driving. Eager to explore sights, sounds, smells and tastes of new places. Loyal and well mannered. Does not get into garbage cans or drink from toilets. Does not whine if left alone for periods of time, hump legs or sniff unfamiliar crotches.

I'm a compassionate, empathetic man who enjoys laughing and making others laugh. I've learned to slow down and smell the flowers. I have a son, 22, away in college and a daughter, 18, who attends school locally. I'm financially secure, enjoy my work (especially my coworkers) and have been with the same employer over 20 years. I had trouble selecting between hang-out, dating, friendship and long term. I mean, the first three are phases a successful, blossoming relationship must pass through to reach the last. I ultimately hope to find a long term relationship with a compatible woman, but I understand this has to begin with that awkward first meeting, a growing friendship and that elusive spark or chemistry necessary to turn best friends into lovers. If we meet and don't feel that spark, I will still have met a nice person or maybe even have made a new friend. Whatever the outcome I will be richer for having met you. So, if you feel we may click, please drop me a note and say, "hi!"

I would like our first meeting to be somewhere safe and comfortable for both of us. I think a casual, face to face conversation over a cup of coffee, glass of wine or ice cream would be fun. I'm very open to suggestions.
