| | I have read a lot of the profiles on there and find a lot of the same theme. Most profiles seem to, say not what your looking for, they say what you “are not looking for.” The word “real” keeps popping up, and I don’t understand this. I am a real person. There must be a lot on here that are not, Perhaps people place bogus profiles? The word Honesty keeps popping up too. Are there a lot of dishonest people here?
If your not honest, at least to yourself, your not going to be happy.
Ok, here is honest. There are a lot of “deal breakers” out there in profiles, and I have attempted to address them in mine. I realize that most men don’t read more then the first two lines and look at the picture. I do think that women will take the time to read these things. So after reading this and you say, “I don’t want anything to do with that man.” As most women will, I understand completely. At least you found out up front, right?
I am a 51 year old man. Physically I am just a half inch short of six feet. I weigh 175 pounds and have a body that comes from working out two to three times a week for twenty years. Dark eyes, Dark hair with a bit of gray coming in. I am a technical and analytical thinking person, sometimes to the point of over analyzing that which I look at. I am Intelligent and educated, with a college degree that's worthless. I am open minded, easy to get along with, a very even tempered person. I don't get real excited about anything, even if the house is burning down around me. I am very slow to anger, I rarely have raised my voice in anger in my whole life. I am patient and calm, to the point that I can appear cold and uncaring. I do look at both sides of a story, and seldom will take sides. I can be**** at times, a smart ass others and sometimes even a little arrogant, though I prefer to think of it as overconfident. I do not get emotional about much at all.
I was married once for over 20 years, and have been divorced for over seven years now. I have no relationship with my ex. We have not spoken in years except at our daughters weddings. I do like kids; I have three daughters. They are all adults, married and on their own. I have a good relationship with them. As far as baggage, I really don't have much. I take care of a couple of elderly relatives, I am the "go to" person in my family, if someone has a problem they call me, and I take care of it. I am one of those jack of all trades, and have even mastered a few.
All my life I have been a serious adrenalin junkie. I am a thrill seeker and a risk taker. I have slowed down some as I have gotten older but I will never stop completely. I don't drink much. I bought a six pack of beer seven months ago and still have four left. I do smoke, not a lot, but I don't think that I will ever stop. I like pets. I have had horses and snakes. I have never owned a dog; I like them, but never had one. I have always had a cat. Strays always find me, and I guess in me, they find a kindred spirt, and they fit into my lifestyle well. I am an outdoors person; I spend very little time inside, and I spend a great deal of time on the water. Even when it's cold and rainy I will likely be out. I like motorcycles, but have not been on one in seven years, I keep looking at them and will get another someday. I have a hidden tattoo and may just get another. I like all music, country, and rock, even classical and hip hop. I have a sense of humor that has been described as edgy, crazy wicked, and sometimes just sick. I do tend to find humor in things that others do not.
I would not be much for “cuddling”, I am not really sure what that even means. I rarely can sit still long enough to watch a movie in one sitting. I have been to the movies twice in the last 15 years. I don’t watch a lot of TV. When I do, I watch The History Channel, A & E, Discovery, or Comedy Central. I will watch the local news for the weather report. I care more about the mating habits of African grasshoppers, or who killed Kenny, then I do who is going to win American Idol.
You will not get me to go to your church. I do believe in God, I am not atheist. I have had too many bad experiences with “Christian churches” in my lifetime that I will never go back. No matter how may times I would hear how “This church is different.“ I have found them to be all the same in the end. The saying, once bitten twice shy, is true, but get bitten by the same dog five times and you don’t try to pet that dog again.
I don’t work a full time job. I did that for over thirty years and with proper planning I was able to retire. If the right job came around I may just take it, but for now, I don’t have to work and If I don’t feel like it. I have lived the kind of life that you read about in books or have seen in action movies. (resume upon request) I am not the type of person to sit on the couch and watch life pass me by. I am a doer, not a watcher.
(Update) I guess its time for one, its been a little while since I first wrote that. I went back to school. I got my nursing license in Feb. 09, and have enjoyed school so much I am going to keep going a while longer.
I am not here looking for sex, there are other sites out there for that. What I am looking for is a friend, someone to talk to, go out with, bounce ideas off of. Or call 911 when I get hurt really bad. Adventures are more fun when you're not alone. If you know how to play poker, that is a plus. |

This is a tough question, first dates are kind of awkward. I would want it to be a place that I could pay attention to you and not what was going on around us. Maybe a quiet place we could share from our book of secrets. |
