Here we are, facing that old joker Time. Kind of shocking, but I intend to be active and happy right up till the last minute and maybe he won't see me coming. I am looking for someone who can make me think and make me laugh. There is not much better than that, is there? Calvin and Hobbes still makes me laugh ( I miss him but give Watterson credit for leaving when he felt dry), Farside, Lily Tomlin, the Onion, you can see, irreverent and ironic points of view. There is a strip called Close to Home, which I discovered by accident, that I really enjoy. All his people are lumpy. Gotta love that. I don't watch much TV but I am fascinated by all those programs that show how a house can be changed. Other than that, I don't watch reality shows. I have never seen American Idol! I do like The Closer and House and Psych. Favorite movies: O Brother left me laughing helplessly, Tootsie, All of Me, Bull Durham, things like that. Music, well.... do you remember Lady Midnight? Lenny is my favorite singer.

I am seeking a kindred spirit, but not desperately. It just makes life more fun and interesting if there is someone to share it with. I am not religious at all, but I think a lot of fervent appeals to the universe were answered when the bumbling creeps of the last administration trundled off into the sunset. It will take a long time to undo the devastation they left us, but a beginning has to start somewhere and I think it has.

That kindred spirit can be hard to find. Good luck to everyone.

First dates, oooo, anxiety producing. I think it helps to have something to talk about, rather than talk about each other and our past lives and stuff like that. So walking in a park or along an interesting street or meeting at a bookstore. Anything like that helps.
