About Me
Sure, all men are ***holes... but I'm a nice one. I've been a Southern California native all my life (with the exception of living on O'ahu for a couple of years). I was born and raised in Anaheim and moved around a lot when I was a kid, so I had to learn to make friends on the fly; I still do that to this day. I work in the hospitality industry. I love what I do and I have aspirations of working in other countries. I love to travel; I just got back from Thailand in late October of last year and am already planning a trip to India with a couple of friends. Art plays a big part in my life, as does music. I can always be found making mixtapes for friends or displaying my photography at www.flickr.com/ficken. One of my images just recently got published in a series of school books in the Philippines.
I like cultured individuals, one's who aren't hesitant on teaching me their culture(s) and beliefs and who are drama free. I like a woman who takes good care of herself, yet one who isn't afraid to sweat and who is essentially down to earth, enjoys laughing, deep conversations and has an overall good outlook on life. I like a woman who can challenge me with intelligent conversation and witty banter... one who doesn't take everything so seriously. Nothing is more of a turn off than a woman who's constantly jealous and territorial; they must get used to the fact that I have a lot of friends, some of those being women. I would enjoy the possibility of being a father someday, but not anytime soon; I don't date women with children.

First Date
I guess that all depends on the individual. I meet so many people on an everyday basis that I'll pretty much adapt to what someone would enjoy doing.
An ideal date for me would probably include something active like ocean kayaking, followed by a picnic on the beach, a movie, and great conversation that would follow into the evening. I'm laid back... if you want to take the reins on what you'd like to do on a date, I'd be open; then again, I tend to gravitate towards a woman who is assertive like myself... which is a plus, but not a dealbreaker. :)
